For the Graphic Design Unit, at first I had struggled and could not get the simple ways of photoshop but i have soon tried new ways to make my Design using illustrator and then it had become a very easy idea to make into an illustrator file as I had learned how to do this and that on Illustrator. I had quite a few ideas to make and later but then had to go with several designs in all the projects. I had learned to do this and later had made quite a plans for my project and later I had learned that i had to make a guide. This is one of the things that i had learned to do and i have made changes to me to make it easy for the design to go through my head. I had before not many idea of what to do and could not have the slightest clue of a good design but now i have guides to help me narrow my changes down. I also another idea for the graphic Design was to make a good guide and to stay on the right track and not to wander with idea of another form as it does not make you finish the end Design.

What could I could have improved over this semester:

1. Having a few ideas and not a whole bunch

2. To try to be more organized with the Assignments

3. Try to be more reflective and have more insight in my blogs

I also have become more organized with all the assignments by firstly planning what I should have at the start and forming my creative ideas before and later designing. Being more reflective was a new goal I have but later I have again created more understandable statement about my design so that it would be more interesting to the teacher and to show what I could have designed. I had also tried to become more selective about what I write and have a good overview of my work. Guides of the designs have helped me a lot this year and I had a lot of guides to help me by showing me ways of design and to show the ways of using a specific idea to try to explain it. These are some ways i have helped me this year and I hope that i could do me accomplishments once more.

Design of the YIS Planning Guide

This is what my design was about, circle was the main point of my design to make it more simplistic as a way of showing the YIS diary.

This is my Yokohama International school font area which is covered with squares and the the SCHOOl and the YOKOHAMA International are the font to make the cover much more than it looks and to make the whole idea of the cover more YIS.

This was the griffon was place for the dragon to show a Yokohama International idea to it and make it more simple I made it a vector like shape and to make circles, it fills the area for the griffon and makes it more than it is, to say that it makes it more dragon looking and less than a vector for the cover.

For the design of the newspaper, I had tried to show how the environment has come to our cities and will come to our cities in the end. It also shows how the cities and the environment are one, and that the world is in a environmental string of balance and we are going into the bad environment difference. This is shown by the difference of ecosystems that the city and the forest are in. The forest is dead and is coming to the city with a message saying that the world cannot go into this environment death without the city being affect by the environment. I had also tried to see if the change in the city and the deforestation would be simple but it was not very well as the city and the deforestation did not very good at the end. Also i would have change more and had more impact for the words as my project looks as it has not been completed. These desing points and making the whole design have a better message were my idea but I had not been able to change and the cover does not have the same image that I had in my imagination. There are numerous edits i would have completed but the time was not for me, though I should have planned for the project so that I had more issues to edit. I have a good idea of the cover but it did not have the end project that I had tried to make.

This is my Cover Brief for the YIS cover.
Design Brief Diary
The Assignment was to make a cover for the YIS year. The cover was to use the words YIS and 2011-2012. The design was up to us. We were to hand this is on the 16th of May, and this was the end. It was to include a brief to make it more simple to chose the design.
For my Diary I had tried to place kinds of circle with a modern feel as I had realized that for many of the designs, there had always been a drawn one. My design was a new modernistic and simplistic one and I added a lot of the circles to make the diary more better looking as it did not look that well. I also wanted that modern feel on many books but was not able to and tired a new approach to the diary by making the diary cover modern by adding circle and a few others to make it look better. The Dragon stencil was added later. The Dragon stencil was an idea I had to have a more YIS. I also had another idea for the empty space but I would try to make it empty as I did not want to have a covered side area. I had several ideas for all my diary covers and later had to try and see weather I could really make the diary cover look as what I wanted it t look like. This is what I had thought of my diary cover.

Designs Process

I had this templates as i placed first and added these line starting a new arabian look.

I had done this before but it was scrapped since i could not utilise it and did not have a good template

this is what i had near the end, i had added a new font with a 3D idea just so i would look better. I also had a new word use in the right.

This would be my finished product. As you can see i have created a new word on the right and made the logo a bit better. One Nutrition Fact was place and the font for the Fruit Gum was made more classic so that i made the food packaging stand out more.

What i have altered for the Logo: The globe Logo with an orange logo with a nice dented feel to create a better 3D addition. Also the font was made more classic so it would be more for the ages of 11-18 and the classic look makes it a more expensive range but it still has that nice wider price range. The left of the cover has a few letters which were made to look 3D to make it more wide for the audience of the market for my gum. Fruit Gum was chosen since it had a very simplistic sound to it and can really tell what it is showing.
