My great-grandpa, Shougo Shimomura, was born in Shizuoka, Yaizu. His father, Jingorou Shimomura, had a farm which sold milk called “Shimomura Gyuunyuu” (Shimomura Milk). Instead of taking over the farm after his father, my great-grandpa moved to Tokyo to go to school to learn to become a dentist. He then moved to Osaka around 1923 because his brother lived there and wanted to open a dental clinic in Osaka. He then found a place in Kaizuka to open a clinic. Kaizuka wasn’t and isn’t an urban area but it was compared to the farm in which he was living in before and that was why he moved there.
