1. What worked well for you in terms of preparing for mock exams?

Doing past papers, and learning what types of question will be on the exams.

2. What will you do differently to prepare for the May exams?

I would study harder on the basic knowledge, so that it will be easier to answer practical questions
3. Make a list of each class in which you will write an exam. What topics are you most comfortable with? What do you need to review?

  • English :not comfortable
  • Math: need more studying, but moderately comfortable
  • History: need more studying
  • Co. Science: 70% comfortable
  • Japanese : i’m confortable.

Figure Painting Until Now

These are the 3 painting I have done until now in this unit. Painting compared to using marker and charcoal is hard to use, because there is a lot of color available.

These are the first 3 figure paintings I attempted to do, with 3 different types of techniques. I have failed to complete all three sketches, but I think I have covered the main parts of the painting I wanted to complete in my painting.
For the next assessment painting, I would like to interpret Oskar Kokoschka’s style of painting; which include using variety of earthy colors, and using daubs of dark color to create the shadows, and slash of lighter colors to create the highlights.

Graphic Design Unit Reflection

After finishing the last project of the Graphic Design unit, I have realized that I have learnt many things during the Unit. During the unit, I have researched, asked friends, and found out many skills on photoshop. However, as I learnt the skills, I found out  that photoshop was not an ordinary photo editing software, and the there are much more features hidden in that menu bar.

The “Color range” tool-

This feature helped me select certain area with a certain color. usually, the individuale parts of the artworks are colored, or rendered in certain colors. By using this feature, it helped me select the exact area of a certain color, without using the “quick selection tool”, or the “lasso tool” wich is time consuming and has a risk of selecting parts that you do not want. My design usually consisted of hand drawn materials and some photoshopped material, so this tool mainly helped me selecting the scanned hand drawn material, from the paper.

As I mentioned earlier, photoshop has much more features hidden, and the features we used is only a portion of it. I think by using the photoshop application fully (which would be very hard) would give me a more complex, and interesting design, with more variation.
