In InS class we were assigned a project to make a website on the Corporate Social Responsibility applied to a given company. Our group chose to study McDonald’s. Our final website is here.
This website that we created is effective in showing the CSR McDonald’s is doing. It is easy to find your way around the website because there are sub-headings where you can click to go to another page. There are few pages so you can easily read everything. On the front page, the definition of corporate social responsibility is shown, so you can easily understand what the websites about.
Our website is not biased. They are unbiased because we took our sources from both sides of the argument. We have pages on the ways how McDonald’s is good and we also show the bad things that they do. In our opinion, we are a little biased, but we give the reader a choice whether choose a side.
Working with a group was good because we were able to split all the work among our group members. We didn’t have to stress about it ourselves. The good part of group work is that we didn’t have that much work, and we could discuss with our friends whether we thought the same thing. The bad part is that we couldn’t meet face to face. We had to connect by calling each other.
I think that CSR is an effective strategy for corporations because they help the reputation of the corporation and they also help people, animals and the world. They help make people more aware of the things happening and influence us to do better things. Even though the companies may not be doing CSR for that reason, it is still benefiting the world we live in. We should also strive for a better world by saving people, animals and the world.
YIS kind of engages in CSR. They are eco-friendly by not using paper for work. They are treating the students well. There isn’t any evident bullying in the school. There are also charities that help homeless people and poor people. They also do community and service by helping the society. The cafeteria food is organic and some of it is home grown. By buying and contributing to these good things, we are helping YIS have a better reputation and atmosphere.
