If I would have the chance to go back to Motomachi Street and record all of the information again to improve upon my process of getting all of the information, I would only draw a sketch of a whole block or two block of the street to prevent confusion. I also would have drawn placement of the buildings differently to make it proportionate to the actual buildings on the street. Even though all of the information was correct and my group listed a lot of store, I think the presentation is not very good. First of all I think that there is too much written information on the map, and I could have used symbols and key to show the information. If I would have used symbols and keys, it would have left more space for detail and not only would it have made the locations and what they represent more clear but it would also make the map better aesthetically. Secondly, I could have put more color in the map to make it more interesting and more appealing to the eye. Despite all of these flaws, there are some aspects of my map that I think I did a good job on. For example, during the trip to Motomachi my group members and I gathered a lot of information about various shops. As for other sections of the assignment, I think that some improvements could have been made on my annotated map of Motomachi/Chinatown/Bluff. I think it was a bad idea to just simply write numbers on the map, with a black ball point pen, each representing a location. It looks sloppy and unprofessional and I coula have made more of an effort to make the map more interesting.
