This unit was about line drawing. Our unit question was, ‘How can we communicate visually?’.We first practiced using different techniques for our final drawing. Techniques such as, cross hatching, stipples, vertical straight line, horizontal straight lines and others. We drew our first drawing of field studies to know what it is like to draw with lines and stipples.
At the start of the unit we drew our first I did not really know what to draw what techniques to use or anything.But later on I understood more and got better at drawing.
What could I have inproved on? Maybe I could study/work on Van Gogh’s line drawings and his techniques, he is a really good drawer, I could have added a little more detail into the sun and the mountains because they are not the best. To improve my drawing, I think I needed more time to plan. When I was choosing my drawing, I didn’t really study Van Gogh’s line drawings of mountains, houses and trees.I did not really plan out what picture was best and most effective to use so i just chose a picture i had seen and started, which was a big mistake because i could have done a better one if i only spent a little more time on looking.
I did not do a lot of reaserch I just started to draw which was a big downfall and made me get less marks, if i had of worked harder and looked at some of his techniques and his ways my drawing could have been really good.
Overall i think that my drawing was ok, it need a lot of work to be done next time we ever do somthing like this i will think/look back at all this and remember what i did wrong and what was most effective.
