Learner Profile

I think I classify in one of the “The Learner Profile”, communicator. Through out the whole year in English class with Ms. Clifford, we had a lot of activities. A activity including collaboration. Communicating, sharing ideas, expressing yourself and listening to people’s opinion and giving feedback. These are the understanding that I have about communicator. In the previous group work, I leaded the group deciding roles and providing them a good condition of working. I contributed to each opinion and showed the best work out  of it.

Another characteristics in the learner profile, I showed recently is Inquirers. Inquirers can be part of being responsible. Ask and find for information from appropriate use of sites. Learn new things in a productive and way and fun for you not forced by the teacher. Out of your personal interest. In our class, we are looking at the style of writing used by the author of The Mango Street, Sandra Cisneros and how she uses 5 senses to express her experience and the characters. This skills lead me to write descriptive and a creative piece of writing.

I would really like to thank Ms. Clifford for the progress I have made so far to this level where writing is fun for me now. Though, continuing this progress, I will probably meet lots and lots of big mountains and steps to go up. But you don’t know the excitement when coming down for a good fun ski ride, that’s when I feel like I have achieved something.

You have written an excellent post Yongwon, and I enjoyed reading your reflection about your learning. Your ability to communicate has been very important in the activities we have done this year. I have often noticed that you are a leader when working with others, and also a role modle. Other people learn from the example you set. I have appreciated your willingness to ask questions and take risks, which is part of being an inquirer.
Thank you for your thoughtful comments and considered reflection.
