Emily, What a great learning tool. I am sure you are enjoying learning with technology much more than the traditional way. You should thank your teacher for helping you have this experience.

By reading this poem, it seems like the character really is hatred about something. If you read this sentence, I could already realize how hatred the character is. "The flick of my wrist hates you. The way I hold my pencil hates you." Like this, I think this poem is creative in a way of showing hatred to others. Also what I found interesting was that this poem had nothing else but a reason of hate. "My voice curt as a hairshirt: hate. My hesitation when you invite me for a drive: hate. My pleasant “good morning”: hate." This is actually a really interesting poem to look at.

This poem does not really seem too talk much about hate, because the things she says that apparently mean that she hates the person, like toe lint, seem to be completely unrelated to hate at all. It seems more like a excuse, throwing random reasons at the person to try and annoy them. "My pleasant “good morning”: hate. You know how when I’m sleepy I nuzzle my head under your arm? Hate." These lines seem to represent the exact opposite of hate. I think though, that it could be that the poet thinks she hates this person, but actually does not subconsciously.

This poem shows about mainly a person hating another person. The poet puts in many things that the person hates. The poet puts in so many things like the persons wrist, socks, blue jewels, pencils hates the person. I agree when you said that this poem is not very subtle. It shows many creative ways of showing the persons hatred to the other person. This poem is mostly very easy to understand and explains a lot of the hatred between the two. It is a very good poem full of hatred. I have never seen a poem with so much hatred before. I really like this poem and I think that it is very easy to read which is very good.

After reading your reflection, I thought it was very interesting. You talked a lot about what happened in each different book and your understanding of the moral of each story. You linked to a website, which also described about the book and also the movie that was about apartheid (This is good :D). You talked a lot in the section about Journey to Jo'burg, I liked your little details. I did think that you talked to much about the story, what the story was about, but I wanted to know more about what you thought of the story. In each paragraph, you described many facts and they were readable. Your description was impressive and I am very amazed to see that you did not use the word 'learn' compared to me :P :). From top to bottom, well done em :).
