Technology Book Trailers Unit Investigation Criteria Reflection

The following is my reflection for the investigate stage we had in the past few weeks. Please read!!!

1. How many criteria do you think it is useful to have?  Why?  Can you have too many or too few?

It will be effective to have at least ten because you can set yourself a goal of what quality of work you want to hand in. Also criteria will be your good guidance of what kind of finished product you are required to make out. Criteria are not instructions but they, like instructions, kind of indicate what you need to do in order to achieve a certain grade.

2. Which of the criteria the class came up with do you think is the most important?  Why?

I think criteria #1 and #5, which are each ’attractive and appealing plot line or needs to have good build up of the story within it’ and ‘it shouldn’t reveal too important parts of the book and must not give away to much for the reader’, are most important criteria. It is important to make your book trailer really attractive for in order to have viewers to try out watching it. But at the same time it should not have too much of an appealing plot line or else it will spoil the climax.

3. Do you feel that the class left out any really important criteria? What ones?

I do not think so at all. I think the criteria we chose as a class are useful as main components that structure your book trailer. But optionally, I will be happy to add one more, which is ‘having warmth for a whole family to watch’. I consider book trailers of children books are not always just for children but also for families. So I think book trailers should be not always cute/sweet for girls or cool for boys but heartwarming for a family to watch it close together.

4. Do you think the process we used (research, small group agreement, then whole class agreement) is a good way to develop criteria – why or why not?

It is an extremely great thing to do because, when you first have your own opinions and facts, and gather in groups to make an agreement, you can see what others have been thinking and what similarities and differences you and others might have. Also those things will be really important to develop criteria because I think you cannot develop anything just by yourself, and you always need someone in your team to add up opinions into one or saying this opinion is not important. By having these steps I think you can for the first time say that you have developed your criteria.

Thank you for reading my reflection that is sort of long I assume.
