3 Minute Speech Reflection

In drama, we did a speech that is going to be graded. The speech is supposed to be about 3 minutes.   Here is my speech:

7A Drama 3 min Speech from YIS Academics on Vimeo.

From Watching the video I think that the volume and projection f my voice was quiet but when I was doing my speech, I felt like I was speaking louder and projecting my voice more then the other speech. I think I could still be louder and project more but I do think that I improved from before.
I don’t really think that my pace was good because I think I spoke all at a kind of even pace and no pauses where there should be. I don’t really think I improved pace & pauses from my last speech so I think those are two things I should work on.
I also don’t really think my emphasis, pitch and inflection was good because I didn’t really emphasis anything or put inflection on any word or sentence and my pitch wasn’t that good because it sounded boring. From not doing those 3 things, i think that made my speech more boring so those are also 3 more things to work on while i’m doing a speech.
I think my posture while I did my speech was good because I wasn’t rocking from side to side, slouching or anything. I think My posture in that speech was one of things I was good at.
I think my eye contact was good because I think I looked at the audience at least half the time or more which I think is good.
I think that the way i used my palm card was good and bad. I think it was good because I didn’t read straight of a paper, which is good so I have better eye contact. However I wasn’t holding the cards straight in my hands all the time and moved them around a lot which is bad because then the audience gets distracted so that is one of the last things I have to practice.
I think I improved my volume and projection which is good because then I’m getting closer to my achievement of making my volume louder. One thing I think I achieved in the speech, is my posture because I stood straight and still. Also I think my eye contact was good because I was looking at my audience more then last time which is good. The last thing I think I achieved, is that I didn’t read straight of the cue cards which I was worried about doing incase I forgot what I was going to say.
I think that even though I improved my projection and volume from the last speech I did, I still think I can and should be louder and project my voice more. I have to also try to keep the palm cards still so it doesn’t distract the audience and then my use of palm cards would be a lot better. The things I think I have to improve the most are Pace and pauses, pitch and Inflection. If I add more pauses where they should be, change the pace at least once, put more pitch into what I was saying and inflection into certain words, then it would make my speech sound a lot more interesting and less boring. I hope next time when I say speeches, I can improve these things.
