I would use Adobe After affects and also iMovie. I would add some affects to pictures and then import it to iMovie.

I think that the least useful application for creating a book trailer is quicktime player. I think that it is useless because it is only for recording.
3. Do you already feel confident about using the application? If not how much will you need to learn?
I do not really feel confident enough, but I think I will be able to handle it by watching more tutorials.
