In Drama class we have been practicing the Japanese Folk Tale, “Momotaro” also known in English as “Peach boy”. Our unit question was “Can actions speak louder than words? ” and our significant concept was, “Stories can be told dramatically through action and voice, not just through written word.” and which our audience were little children.

In this unit there were a lot of things I had to progress. First of all I think that story was easy to understand also for little children. But when I concentrate on seeing my own acting, I think there were not much of a progress.

I think I was filled with weaknesses but our group was filled with strengths in our acting. Our group had a comedic story line of Momotaro. Everyone in our group were able to exaggerate movements, especially Keigo. But when I look myself, in the story, I think I had some parts, like the part where I cried out like a baby was maybe the right type of thing for little child, but other than that I think it was quite boring to hear what I had said or done.

I think our scene was quite successful especially because we had Keigo and Nicolai’s comedic movements and comments. As a story to little kids I think it was quite a successful story.

I think I have a lot of areas to improve my skills. I think I really have to improve in exaggeration, or to have more emotions in my movements and comments. I think if I improve it, it will become more easy to understand, what scene it is.
