Reflection for first science project

Filed under: Uncategorized — 17hongs at 9:27 am on Wednesday, September 28, 2011

This was my first science project that I did for 7th grade. We learned about nutrients, minerals and vitamins that are in our food. It was really interesting, because I wanted to know what vitamins and nutrients goes into our food and what how my body acts with it.

I spent quite a lot on this project. In total (including class working time), I spent 9 hours (calculated in hours). I think I will arrange my time more, because if you arrange your time, it will be much easier to finish the work on time and be more detailed.

Things that I learned about food and digestion

  • That Cherry is the one of the low calorie fruits, but has a lot of vitamins, minerals and nutrients.
  • That there is enzymes that only work for particular foods.
  • Consumption of Cherries has potential health effects.
I never know that cherry is low calorie fruits, but now that I know, I will try to eat more :P
The part that I am proud of in this project is that I made a poster with my own handwriting. These days, many people hand in their work with their computer like powerpoint, but I thought it would be better if I use my own hand to do my project.
The part that I would do differently is that as I said on the top, I will arrange my time for my projects and for my work. I think it is much better for myself, because that means I am balanced between free time and my work.
Overall, it was a great project. I learned many things from it and I am looking forward to work more harder in science.

I LOVED YOUR WORK SOPHIA!!!
It’s so well organized on a piece of paper and I really liked that you have put a diagram of the digestion system. Keep up the good work!!

I liked how you drew human’s body diagram and labeled each organs what is going to happen with the cherry when it enters the organ. Some part was squashed with text so it was hard to read. But other than that it was GOOD :)

I liked that on your poster there was a lot of information on it that explained everything clearly. Also Its good the way you organized you poster so all the different information is separated. I also like the way that on your poster on your digestive system map had a lot of clear detail. Good Job:)

Thank you for your comments! May, Anju and Mary. It really helped and I was a little worried about texts getting squashed as well, Anju! I think that is one of the thing that I did wrong.. Anyways, thank you!
