Grade 6
GOALS
1. To write more better essays and expand my vocabulary in English and Japanese.
I did expand my vocabulary in English and Japanese but not enough. My parents say if you read books you can expand your vocabulary. I don’t like reading books that much and I rather play games, talk to my friends or text on my phone. I really thought that I need to expand my vocabulary when I did a news article in English and when I made a news show in Japanese. When I was writing my news article, I kept on repeating the same words over and over again and that caused me a lower grade then I can get. When I was making a news show in Japanese class, I got information from the Internet but I didn’t understand the words used and I had to ask the teacher a lot of times. I would try to read more over the summer break and expand my vocabulary to use it in 7th grade.
2. Challenge more things in math (e.g. UKMT).
I did do the UKMT, well I didn’t have a choice. I guess what I meant was work more hard to be good in things like UKMT, exams and tests. If this is what I meant, I think I did well achieving my goal. For the exam, I revised with the revision sheet that was given to us by the teacher and I revised at home and at school. I did get a score that I am happy with. I didn’t revise for tests and UKMT since I didn’t really need to but I think I would like to revise for UKMT next year.
3. Read more books in Japanese and English.
This links to my first goal and as I said I don’t like to read. Even if I tell myself I would read, my attention goes to something else or I sleep. I usually read when I am in bed but it’s quite late so I sleep when I read about half a page. I have books that I like and books that I don’t like and it is hard finding a book that I like. My new goal is to find a book I like and try to read it continuously instead of reading a few pages and read the rest a year later (what I do now).
Special Pieces of Work
This was a special piece because for this piece I got the highest grade in art class. I also really liked the colors I used and the l liked how I layout my prints. It was really fun printing and choosing the colors and matching the colors. It was hard tracing the design to the softolium but I managed to trace it and I was proud of myself. If I have a chance to do this project again, I would like to use 2 colors in one print.

This is a special piece because I took a lot of time to make this tutorial. It took me more than 7 hours to finish this tutorial. Some people took only 30 min. I also think this is a special piece because I liked how I used my camera. It was fun making this since my friends helped me and gave me ideas how to make it better. I learned techniques like how to use iMovie better.
