As you all know of course, there had been earthquakes happening in Japan these couple of weeks. Now, it’s about to welcome 2 week after the earthquake. During this week there was some news that celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Charlie Sheen.
What these stars doing is to raise money to help build new home, more clothes and needs. Lady Gaga is selling wrist band that says, ‘We Pray For Japan~~日本の為に祈りを。’ ,each $5.00. Charlie Sheen are using his tour money to donate for Japan! WOW! But, not only celebrities and famous people are doing donation. Even store company in Japan had raised money! One ‘UNIQULO’ owner had given his own money to donate to Tsunami Relief.
I am really thankful that all of these people around the world is helping Japan. And I think us, Y.I.S. can do something to help this country. I hope that there will be some ideas to help Japan. I start to think that there is going to be a brighter light showing upon us.
Earthquakes happen because of plates underground subducting eachother’s plates. As one plate digs under another plate, that ‘another’ plate will crack for 100km~200km. And by that crack, there it happens, an earthquake.
But, for this time, instead of 100km for the crack on North American Plate, it was 400kM!! No wonder why, it was long and big…
Yesterday, there was massive earthquake during my humanities class. At first, it shook only slightly and stopped. But, it shook like as if there was a big hurricane coming. My class mates quickly went under the tables. Because I thought that it was just a regular earthquake, I just laughed-it off. But, it got stronger, and stronger every minute. It went quite a while. And I start to cry. I was really scared because I thought that my mom would be stuck in car accident, my dog will be hurt by something falling and my dad scared under his desk. And finally it stopped. Still crying I tried to call my dad. No line.
Then, there was another shake. But, it was stronger and little longer than first quake. It was happening too sudden. I had another melt-down while hugging my best friend, Hye-won. This torture continued for couple of minutes. I have never experienced this big earthquake before, so I was shivering after earthquake finished. Our teacher, Mr.Guenther told us to stay in class until our parents come. I waited for 1 and half hour for my mom to come. I was in great despair because I thought that my mom would never come. But, luckily she came! I was sooo happy! And thanks god, my mom brought my dog, Butter with her! Yeay!
Now, there is still warnings of Tsunami and Earthquake. I hope that there aren’t anymore deaths and injuries…
I chose these videos because I want to make my drawing better and more cartoon-like. Each videos and each animal had a different techniques. And additionally, the video’s director, doodlekat1, makes many more how-to-make-cartoon videos than these which I have shown you. I hope you enjoy it.
I have learned how to make paper origami ninja star. I was excited and happy that Ana put in that video because I never knew how to make origami or even paper ninja. By that tutorial, I would like to know a variety of origami to enjoy. I had learned during investigation of Ana’s blog that adding your own opinion about the video will help get attention from other bloggers to watch the video. I also thought that her blog theme made blogger easy to find a post that they want to investigate and see. Also, it’s simple and cute. A contrast between my tutorial and Ana’s tutorial might have is that my tutorial draws on paper while Ana’s tutorial is making origami by paper. Also, there were many offers and persuading lines while my tutorial have only website for my tutorial. And, because my tutorial’s director mumbles sometimes, it’s hard to hear. But, in Ana’s tutorial, the man had loud, clear voice which was easy to hear.
I can use the idea of putting in my opinion to persuade bloggers to watch the video or seeing my blog. Also, since my blog theme might be a bit too colorful, I might change to more simple theme so that bloggers can check my post easily. I think Ana has a really good blog.
I have learned how to make that paper gun. Actually, it was one of interesting art video I had ever viewed. By that video, I would like to sometime soon make that paper gun too. And I would like to show it to everyone when I make it. Although, it would be a challenge for me because it’s my first experience. I could use the techniques of linking the main point of your tutorial just like my friend; Hye-won did. Also, the theme was really simple and doesn’t hurt your eyes (I mean that if it’s too colorful, it’s going to make my eyes dizzy.). And I love the snow-flakes that falls in blog.
Now, I would like to share about contrast between my and Hye-won’s tutorial. Hye-won’s tutorial director has clear voice and it is good… but, sometimes he would a bit mumble. My director might have mushy moth, but I think she only mumbles in the end of video. Also, my tutorial doesn’t tell the part I need to be careful about for drawing while my friend’s tutorial includes weaknesses and strength of this paper gun.
