My prediction wasn’t correct.  My prediction was it will go really really high and I thought that our team will win.  But, my prediction was completely opposite.  Instead, our rocket went up to about 4m and dropped.  And that goes with other 2 times we did.  And also, we lost.  Although I am sad, I wish that we could make some changes on our rocket.

It was a fair test for me.  Because first of all, we all got a chance to launch our hand-made water rocket.  Also, because we all checked an angle from our place.  And we were able to compare it.

What did your learn about rockets from this experiment?

I learned that rockets just don’t launch by fire and it’s done.  I learned that making rockets needs a lot of calculation and energy.  Also, I learned that you need to think where the wings need to be, what shape it should be trimmed and what we can do to launch it really high.

    Katie,
I’m glad to see you posted a report for your water rocket. It seems you enjoyed this assignment, and although your model didn’t fly as high as the others, you were able to understand what you might need to do to improve its performance next time.

Part of the requirement for this assignment was to include the Method of how you built the rocket and why you chose the design features you did. I don’t see anything in your report about this. What happened to your data, pictures and video? These were to be included in your report as well.

What did you notice about the winning rocket’s design? How does that support your thoughts about the fin design and its effectiveness? I think you know and observed more than you are reporting – I wish you had put it in the report!
