Art Reflection: Line Drawings

“Make your mark” is our unit title for this line drawing unit and we have to make a line drawing consisting of several line techniques and elevating the 3 layers. the background, middle ground and the foreground. You got to choose your own picture and could mix pictures together with applications such as pages. We first started off with the background made it fairly detailed then the middle ground which had a bit more detail and then the foreground which the max detail. The final product had to be drawn by a sharpie.

Despite some trouble figuring out what picture I wanted to draw I think it was the right choice starting another one with another photo. The first photo consisted of several layers and were extremely hard to draw. So I found a different picture and started again from scratch. I first drew pencil but then realised I needed to draw it again anyway so I started to draw it in pen. Then I made the things and glued the layers on to make the elevation.

I think I can improve on my time management the final week I did both the drawing and the glueing. I think I shouldn’t take too much time on choosing the pictures and get more done in class to prevent doing it all at home. I also need to organise my work such as not loosing the project so I should start again.

I think the main strategy I worked on was observing. It is impossible to draw what you imagine in your head and end up looking realistic. I would keep my eye always on the picture. Although I made some mistakes because the scale was different.

When I was drawing my line drawing I was struggling with the lake so I asked if I could borrow a book that would tell me how to draw the lake. It helped me out (a bit) but I think I could have researched more.

This is my mountain as you can see I put in detail to show depth in the mountains

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this project and would like to do it again.

This is the final product of my drawing
