Three minutes Speech – Drama

During this speech, I felt exact the same as one minute speech, however felt way longer even though its two minutes difference. I was again, nervous and the cue cards were wet with my sweat…

I think I should raise my volume once again, because I have realised that my voice is very small, which I even couldn’t hear myself on the video, even though I made the computer volume max… In addition, I think I should improve on eye contact, to drag audiences attention, which is an essential step for the speech.

The criteria I have achieved is organisation and well detailed, for this speech. I was in a rush to prepare, make a cue cards, and practise before the performance. However, I think I have succeeded the speech, and I think I will be more confident speaking in front of class.

In this speech, I included some rhetorical question, and tried to inform lots of details, however time was up really quickly than I thought, that I couldn’t say the whole thing… It is sad that I want to talk more, but theres no time. My speech was over three minutes..

But overall I was so happy with my speech succeeded and I really respected my neighbor by getting some information for this speech, Taka and Toshi. They were nervous like I was during an interview. The younger brother (Toshi) was very entertaining and childish very recently, however he was quiet and I was surprised with his matureness… The older brother (Taka) is mature and respectful as usual.

Child labour evaluation

  • Part I
    • What would you improve about your presentation?
    • Would you ask any other questions or bring up any other arguments?
    • When you watch the video, do you think you were persuasive? Why were you able to persuade the audience (language, tone, evidence?)
    • Please include a link to at least two of the primary sources you used to get your evidence. What do you think was the advantage of using primary sources? (sources written at the time of the Industrial Revoltion).
  • Part II:
    • In 2-3 sentences explain the argument for child labor in the Industrial Revolution.
    • In 2-3 sentences explain the argument against child labor in the Industrial Revolution
    • Do you think England would have industrialized as quickly without child labor? Why or or why not?

On Monday, the 20th, us 7B has presented our arguments about child labour. Here are the reflections:

What I should have improved in this speech was to raise my voice volume, and while reading the speech, use eye contact, to show that I’m bringing audiences attention and when theres a questions, I would interrogate to an audience. I read it smoothly, however I realised that I didn’t punctuate on each paragraph, and rushed through reading, so I want to improve those next time.

I’m not that sure about bringing up some information and questions from watching our speech video, not that I know. However ours could be a little more longer and expand some sentences including a details by researching more about child labour in general with my partner well.

I think the language and tone I used had impressed some audiences. But still, I think I wasn’t really able to persuade an arguments much, since my level of expression hasn’t really changed. (Same expression through this 5 minutes speech), so I will need to stress some words to drag audiences’ attention.

The link I used: Spartacus

Child labour in Industrial Revolution is necessary because children have to (if parents passed away) replace for them. Also, working is for earning money which could be used for going to school and get a good education, buying food supplies for preventing the starve, and even essential for buying medical supplies and get a cure when children gets injuries. So still they work in a terrible factory, at least children receive some amount of money.

Having said that, children working in a factory damages their health. There will be some injuries and diseases from dust coming into their lungs and the working time is too long for children. They will also need to get some free time, fresh air, and EDUCATION.

I think England will industrialise without child labour, because England is mostly developed, and the country people must be organised enough. Child labour is once again harmful for children.

Tech- Book trailer group assesment

1. How many criteria do you think it is useful to have?  Why?  Can you have too many or too few?

2. Which of the criteria the class came up with do you think is the most important?  Why?

3. Do you feel that the class left out any really important criteria? What ones?
4. Do you think the process we used (research, small group agreement, then whole class agreement) is a good way to develop criteria – why or why not?

I think about 10-15 criteria might be useful to have, because it shows lots amount of us (group mates) has discussed and researched about the assignment. I think there is no too many or too few. It depends on how much you understand about the book trailer, and its mostly free for students to express an understanding.

Not that I know what the class left information, because students has written many opinions, and also matched what I was thinking too, for example me and other students had a same opinion- “Book trailer shouldn’t tell the whole climax in the novel”.

Yes, because its efficient, and its not much confusing than sharing a document and editing with whole students.

Basketball Analysis Video

For our PE class, we have been doing basketball, and we are tend to make a video, and analyse how I have done basketball for this month. And in this video, I will talk about my two strengths and weaknesses, definition of man-to-man defense, three rules for basketball, and finally conclusion.
