Humanities – Industrial Revolution Map

About two months ago, we did the project about an Industrial Revolution in UK.

We made a map of UK before the industrial revolution (around 1750) and after the industrial revolution (around 1900).

I suffered with a visual, and I have realised that it has more work and research than a Man Research and making a comic book.

Anyways, I succeeded with my art however it needed more information or an examples about what life was like in 1800 vs 1900 in UK (teacher’s comment).

So, thats it for my writing, and enjoy viewing my map :D

Battery Life Experiment

For the Science assignment, we did an experiment about the battery life on computer. We have spread into group of four people. My group mate have: Opened around 50 tabs, playing games, listening to music on YouTube, listening to music on iTunes and increasing brightness of computer screen.

As a result, around 50 tabs open+playing games were the most great change of battery decreasing. I think this is because, like as other students might say, opening lots of tabs could be using lots of batteries, and in addition games or something to do with online could consume batteries.

Here is the chart for the experiment:

Evaluation

I liked the Create part the best, and I liked the Investigate part the least.

I liked Creating, because I was able to write my opinion while answering questions, and since I take computer classes outside of school and always knew how to use computers, I was able to use these skills in class. Specifically, my post titled “Mushroom In Treasure Hunt!” was fun to write because I was able to create a post on a funny event that happened during the Hakuba trip.

I least like investigate, because I had trouble writing in some comments about each websites. I was always thinking of writing them positively. The brainstorm was not too hard, however it took a long time, so I struggled during class.

If I was a teacher, I would change investigate by making students write into blogs what they hope to do in the future, or what they want to improve in technology today, or look into each student’s blog what they already have learned and what they didn’t.

I want to do this because, it also helps students to think and I can also help my students by communicating with each other, and improving the part his / her weak point.

My strength was the way I tried to amuse my readers, and express my feelings. This is my strength, because I am trying to level up for technology and blog skills, and since I like using computers, especially internet. I sometimes read famous people’s blog in websites so I get interested and consult what they write often.

My weakness was that I couldn’t really finish the work quickly. This is my weakness, because I mostly get stuck on something when it is difficult, while others are continuing, so I feel like I’m the only one who is way behind, so I try to rush and my brain panic, sweat on hands, and so on.
I had those problems in other subjects since elementary, and people around said to calm down.

I thought I grew by sharing people my opinions and happenings, just like my diary. I have many ideas, however I’m sort of not good at talking to people who I am not accustomed to, and I get nervous. So, since I like using computer and writing, the blog is always a reliable place to express my feelings, and it seems like my stress and my regrets about not being able to say what I had wanted to during that day had flown away. I think everyone doesn’t know but I have a very strong pride, so I get embarrassed whenever I make mistakes or getting wrong answers.

Now, I hope I could learn how to comment on others. If I disagree with someone, I don’t just type in “I disagree”, then that will cause an arguments, so I will tell where I disagree, and why. Then everyone may notice me and come to my blog and read.

LAMDA Reflection

On January 17th-18th, Grade 6 had LAMDA exam. I arrived a little late…  Anyways when the performance time came, I wasn’t nervous that much.  Since I’ve practiced a lot, and almost remembered all of the word it said on the script, (Of course I used note card) and tried not to show my note card, because it might look like that I have nothing, and communicating with examiner. Now I’m just wondering for the results…

Here is a video which Mrs. Erikson recorded for me. Its a practice, (I missed some part & a little struggling…)

Diary Of Jakarta Survival

I left Japan, and arrived to Jakarta. As a climate, I heard that they rain so much every year, and causes floods. I thought a little anxious. There were huge flood in 2007. I thought that many people had grieved for their lost family. Many places were also destroyed and damaged. The building material looked so uncomftarble and weak, so thats why it gets flushed with floods.

As a transportation, I thought they weren’t that bad, although it was bicycle riding (Ojeck), and I wasn’t really good at riding on them…

So I decided to think that I should leave, and go back.

Cross country Unit

In cross country unit, I was really feeling gloomy… I like running for short distance, however, I hate long distance, so I was nervous when I get to the start line. The path was about 1 km for 1 lap, though we had to run 2 laps.

When it was the day for the final cross country day, the weather looked fine, and the view was good. I felt exciting when I get to the park, unless we had to run… When I went to the start line, I was so nervous again!! But what ever costs, I had to do it. I had to try my best. When I finished running, it was a disaster of sweats. However, I was proud that I runned with my effort!!!

At the end, our guest, Mr. Kimihara came visit us for listning to his speech. I deeply agreed with his words. I thought that I might do more practice and try cross country running faster.
