In our school, we are learning about mashups. Mashup can be things such as remixs. When people make remixs, it comes out by their creativity, but also you can say that it is from copying. This post is an answer to “Does copyright hinder or cultivate creativity?”

Well, I think the answer is both. However as a result it may cultivate creativity. We watched many types of remix such as the “Sweet Brown Remix Songs”, “The Scary Mary Poppins”, and it shows that the creator used his or her imagination and mostly creativity to remake from the original. It can change the setting, the situations, funny to scary, and many other things. Basically it means it can change 180 degrees.

In our class, we did a debate on who will win, if we did a court between Professor Faiden, the creator of “A Fair(y) Use Tale “ and Disney. Now Disney was the side who went to the court to complain. Disney said that Professor Faiden used the video gave bad reputation o Disney and used Disney characters without permission. On the other hand Professor Faiden said that it was for educational purpose. As a result the Professor Faiden side won.

I think copyright is one of the hardest and the difficult way to solve. However if there was no fair use. We would not have been creative. On the other hand, if there was no copyright, many people would use the original without permission which isn’t a good thing to do.

To make slideshow. It is able to use image, video, and music.

I think application that costs would be good. For example Keynote, iMovie, etc.

3.  How easy/difficult is the application to use?  What is easy, what is difficult?  Explain.

I think using application is getting easy because you are able to watch videos for help. It could be difficult because sometimes there are difficulties of doing something.

4.  What are the resources available to help you learn to use the application? (is there a good help-menu? tutorials? youTube videos?)

I think tutorials that are on internet. YouTube could be great also. There are help buttons also.

5.  Put the result of your testing – a movie or presentation file of some kind, in the folder on the server.  It should have the name BookTrailers_Investigation_ApplicationTest_YourName.

6.  Along with the other students who tested the same application you did, present the information above to the class and show them your tests.

In this unit, I learned how to create a tutorial. I learned what makes a good tutorial that makes the viewer easy to see, for example making it simple, clear image, no back-ground voice, etc.  I learned how to put music that I made to my tutorial by using garage band.

I am really glad that my tutorial is done. I think I’m happy because, this is my first time to create a tutorial. I did my best to make a tutorial so I feel good. It feels like when I finished an exam.

The thing I thought that was easy when I made a the tutorial with imovie. It was easy because I was able to make my tutorial fast, and I didn’t need that much help. The thing that was hard to me was when I recorded my tutorial. It is because I forgot to do Internal Microphone so it took m time to move forward.
In my tutorial, there were oral instructions and clear image. There were background voice so I think it was a little distracting. I think the video quality was good because it was able to see small parts of it.
I need to learn to know how to make my tutorial without a background noise. I want to make my tutorial that everybody can understand and like. I want my tutorial to be better by making it entertaining.

In technology class, I commented on 2 student’s blog. First I commented on Charles’s blog. I learned that what makes the tutorial look nice and bad. Charles’s tutorial was about how to make a paper gun. It was nice when it demonstrated by doing it. It said to “make it tightly as possible” which can make it better. It had a good quality of the camera and was loud and clear. For the second one, I commented on Oliver’s. Oliver’s tutorial was nice because it put some word’s “the neck is a tuna can” It said particular on the shapes. It also showed how the body parts should look like, for example head, nose, eyes, neck.
From doing the tutorial investigation, I learned what makes a good tutorial and a bad tutorial and how. I learned well ‘organized’ and ‘clearly’ makes a better tutorial. Also by making it descriptive, speed for instruction, and demonstrating by doing it. So this made me learned to make a good blog.
The one I researched was much better than the one I made. I think I need to improve my self to make my tutorial focus and I want to demonstrated well be putting a lot of good details.I don’t want ‘um’ and ‘like’. And most of all I want to make my tutorial simple and organized. Now I am satisfied in my tutorial.

I like investigation because it is easy because I like to brainstorm. I also like it because I enjoyed researching other blog. It gave me ideas of what kind of blog I can make and how I can make my blog good. I don’t I don’t like plan the most because it took time to draw a good template and it was hard to choose which one I like the most. It was hard when I need to write the reasons of why I like the template.

I think I have done well on listening and learning new techniques because with that I was able to make my blog simple and well organized. I think I need to improve on working faster so I can be able to make a better poster and I think I need to improve myself by not taking too much time on one thing.

I grew as a learner by getting the points of how to grow a blog. Other than the technology skills I learned what makes a good blog by learning how to make my blog interested.

I am satisfied with my blog design. I picked this one because it shows me I like the color blue so it shows me that I like dark colors. I also picked this one because it makes the reader focus.

I think my criteria fits with “simple” I also like it because it is simple because it doesn’t have too much decorations so it makes the reader read clearly. Instead if it wasn’t it makes it hard to read and the reader might get distracting. To me it looks cool because the blue fits with the black.

I think I need to improve by learning new techniques more so my blog can be fantastic. I want to learn a lot of cool techniques but there’s only 1 lesson in a weak! I should learn a lot of techniques until when I’m adult so many people can visit my blog.

I choose this template instead of the other 2 because it shows that I like to play sports like soccer. I like soccer so I put a soccer ball on my blog and I put a baseball because now I am interested on it. I choose this one because I like to play  different type of sports. I choose this template because I thought that I like this one more by the organization and the colors.

This template shows an excellent blog design by putting a sports team on the blog. And also by putting things live green grass to show that it’s a field. And I put other things that relates to that sport.

When I was researching for a good blog, I have learned that putting pictures will show more about what I did. I also learned that making easy sentences will be easy to read to small children. Good contrast is good so the reader will focus more on it. learned that the simple the better because it will be hard to see by putting to many color or words. When I brainstorm what I want in my blog I made a web to show it. I went to a application called Insperation. I put sports, food, music, etc. in my blog.The practice made me learn what I can click and what I can do with it. Also it tells me what will it do. The sheet helped me what does each of the things do.
The categories I choose pictures so the reader can imagine more about the story. The next one is organize. I think organize because if it wasn’t organized the reader won’t be able to read and the reader will get confuse. The last thing I think is balance. If it was well balanced, the combination of the picture, text, writing, etc. will be good and the reader will be able to read it. But if it wasn’t well balanced, the blog will be not nice and it will be hard to read.
