Handball (also known as team handball is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outfield players and a goalkeeper on each team) pass a ball throw it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minites, and the team that scores the most goals win. Modern handball is usually played in a gym or in door, but outdoor variants exist in the forms of field handball. The game is quite fast and includes body contact, as the defenders try to stop the attackers from approaching the goal. Players can dribble the ball like in basketball and can take 3 steps. They can also pass using, chest pass and bounce pass. Players are only allowed to be in possession of the ball for 3 seconds before either passing or shooting at goal. The game has different phases. Firstly a team needs to gain possession of the ball and this usually occurs with the goalkeeper. The objective is to turn defence into attack. The next phase is moving the ball to your opponents goal. The next phase is to get into a scoring position. No players are allowed inside the D zone. However, every player is allowed inside the F zone. Fouls occur when players use excessive force and play is re-started with a free pass. Players do not have a limited amount of fouls.

Drill#1

A simple drill with two lines of players and another player standing in the middle.

The player at the front of the line passes the ball to the player in the middle and then sprints towards the goal.

The player returns the ball, passing the ball in front of the runner, for them to run onto and shoot with a quick shot

 

Drill#2

Two players that are it and there is one ball between them, they have to tag other people but you have to have the ball in your hands to tag the other players, when you tag them that player becomes it as well

What is health

Health is something very important for humans. A lot of people now do not think health is important and this is not good. If you are healthy in the future your life will have a healthier life, one of it is living longer. If you are heathy in your young age and keep that figure you can live longer and you will have a lower possibility to have a heart attack. To be healthy you should have a healthy diet and exercise at least once a week.

 

What is fitness

Fitness is something that shows how fit you are or how unfit you are. Fit is when your body is in a good shape or a body that can handle a lot of things like exercise. Unfit is something that a lot of people have and it is when you bodies is out of shape or your body might not be able to handle that exercise, and this is happing a lot of people now.

So fitness is a thing that shows what your body can take.

 

What are the components of health related fitness

These are the five components

  • Muscular Strength
  • Muscular Endurance
  • Cardiovascular Endurance
  • Flexibility
  • Body Composition

Muscular Strength is how much could your muscles take. If your muscles could hold massive amount of weights or heavy weights your Muscular Strength are really good, but if you muscles could not take heavy weights or any weights your Muscular Strength it not very good.

 

Muscular Endurance is how long your muscles can take. Could you use your muscles for a long time or does your muscles stop after a little bit. If you could use your muscles in a long period of time your Muscular Endurance is very good, for example if you could do 100 push up in a row that is very good Muscular Endurance. Still if you could not use you muscles for a long period of time then your Muscular Endurance is not as good. Muscular Endurance is very important for a lot of sports, Soccer, Football and tennis needs good Muscular Endurance.

 

Cardiovascular Endurance is an ability to exercise in a long period of time, the average time of working hard is 20 minutes and if you could do more then that your Cardiovascular Endurance is very good. Running a long distance with out stopping is a very good Cardiovascular Endurance, but in other case if you could not run a long distance without stopping your Cardiovascular Endurance is not good. If you get tiered just by daly activities like walking, going up the stairs that is a sing of a very bad Cardiovascular Endurance. Sports like Triathlon and Marathon needs really good Cardiovascular Endurance.

 

Flexibility is how flexible you body is. This may not be as important as Muscular Strength or  Cardiovascular Endurance but if your body is not flexible your movements will be stiff and you could get seriously injured.

 

Body Composition is the balance of things in your body. Do you have too much fat or if you have too much muscle your Body Composition is not very good, having a balanced  Body Composition is very important to our body.

 

How can and why should you test your fitness

 

If we test our fitness we could now what part of things we should work at, like you might find out that you are laking muscles strength then you know now you need to work on your Muscular Strength. The way to find out is by doing tests like a running test and push-up test and others.

 

What types of fitness test have you used

 

With the whole class we did this test called the cooper test, and what we do here is that we run for 12 minutes and see how far we ran. Also we had another test and we found out how much could our body take.

 

What are some of the problems of using the BMI as a standard test

 

BMI is not a good thing to have as a standard test because on the website it will show that the person might be obese but in real life that person can be really fit or in the other case it can be the other way around the person might be thin but he or she can still be obese. The reason why the BMI test is not good is because it is not very accrete.

 




What does it mean to be healthy

To have a healthy diet and have a healthy relationship with other people, also be physically healthy not just sit all day do some exercise. Do not have too much presser and have a healthy  mind. Do not use pills all the time. See the doctor if you do not feel good.

What Is heart rate

Heart rate is the number of times the heart pumps

The way to take the heart is by using wo fingers place them on your neck the push a little bit or place you two fingers on the rist of your arm. There is a machine that you strap around your body and that will show you your heart beat. your maximum is heart rate is 220 – your age. The lower hearth rate you have is more mellow you are and people who are really fit have low heart rate.

We did a test called the cooper test it is a test to see your fitness you run for 12 minutis and see your fitness is, we ran at a place called minatono-mearu oka park near school. The track was 200 meters. my parter did 11 laps and that is 2.2 km i thought he did well. I did 10 laps and that is 2km I did not try my hardest because i got hot and that made me not do my best and I also walked a lot. I think that I need to do more running to get my fitness better.




PE Reflection

At PE  we did a thing called cross county, we have this form grade 3 to grade 12, this is my 4th time doing cross county. If you be in the top 3 you of your grade can go to a international school cross county race, I went to that rase once and it was awesome. I feel that cross county is good for us because it feels good when we finish cross county and it is not so hard, the corse is not to long. I think letting music at practice is a awesome idea because some times the beat pushes you and you can get use to the speed.
