Storytelling reflection
April 13, 2012
I performed a variety of different characters, such as an old man, a monkey, and an oni. I switched between characters by coming off the stage or turning my back to the audience. I also done some narration.
Some difficulties were switching characters and writing the script. We overcame the switching characters problem by arranging the parts our members had to make the switching as easy it could be.
Some achievements were using the oni mask to show that you were an oni, and our performance was really successful, apart from forgeting 1 part, I was really good at performing this skit.
I think our group and the group performing Old Gwiylm and the fairies was really good, because it had really good acting, and they had almost no mistakes. They involved the audience well, and used the stage space and props well
I had a hard time getting the voice of the grandpa, and it was a bit easier to do the posture.
We used the stage space well, and also our props were limited, but we were resourceful, and we coped well.
We had blend of narration and acting, which entranced the audience, especially when Aiki said “back” in responce to answering the question “where is the treasure” at 4:25 on the video embedded below
