During this project we have been working on an essay about different types of diseases. This project was a little different from our regular projects because it depended on our research skills to learn this topic. The essay was 600-800 words and we would have to explain the political, social, environment, and cultural effect if the disease. Also, we would have to explain about how the study of this disease has improved over time and what are the remaining questions that has not been answered.

My essay is about influenza. One thing that I was proud of my essay is the fact that I have found many good sources for both my information and the effect part of my essay. I have found some good information mostly from the Encyclopædia Britannica and lots of my news articles from BBC News. I think I did an okay job for this project because even if I have worked hard on this essay, I am not confident about it.

The difficulties of this project is to start learning something that I did not know from the very beginning. I did not know how to start the project at the beginning so I decided to read some informations and some articles and take some notes on paper(I prefer taking notes on paper). After I have gathered all of my information, I have started to plan my essay. I have found it hard to put my ideas that I have in my head into an essay and while writing, I have found it hard to concentrate for a long time.

I personally prefer taking lessons for 80% of our tasks or assignments and 20% researching. As students, we would have trouble starting a project on a topic that we don’t even know about, also we can practice taking notes during class. Although if we did 100% on lessons, we would not be able to learn proper ways to cite the sources and how to find correct information on the internet.
