During this debate, I have been assigned the role, Frances Wood, who is an anti-canpaigner of child labor. I think I have at least tried to stay in character of my role. It was a little hard to work with my lawyer although we have managed to create questions and answers that will fit to our character. If I were to do this next time, I would like to practice to answer the question from the opposite side calmly and be confident about my answers. If I was the opposed side of this debate, I would like to ask my self “Would you rather ban the child labor and let the economic growth stop, or would you rather let the whole country become richer by having child labor?”

I think child labor should be allowed but not allowed at the same time. The growth of economy back in the industrial revolution had shaped the world today. To the growth of our civilization, there must be some sacrifices, it had always been this way. But having child labor is injustice because adults have the responsibility to make sure the children grow up safely and get good education before they become adults and take over the responsibility to take care of the children. Children are the next generation, without good education and good childhood, there will not be any future left for humans.

My personal opinion are different from my character at some points. I do not disagree or agree with child labor. Both sides have its own reasons to support their idea and try to make their own idea success. Child labor was a cruel way to support the economy growth back in the industrial revolution, although it had also shaped our world today.
