During the weekend, I will be doing the SLC (Student Led Conference) with my parents at home. SLC is a conference where the students present their school works from each subjects in 30min.
I think my strengths during the conference will be my way of presenting. I have planned to have a small summary(ish) talk in the beginning, and then let my parents ask questions. My weaknesses will be the ways I answer questions. Most likely, I would not be able to answer the question in a short way, and the topic will become a discussion and we will run out of time. I am planning to work on the time management during the conference and try to get over as many as subjects as possible.
Goals (May be changed during the conference):
- I will try not to go over time while I’m working during the night at home.
To do this, I will limit my daily working time to 11pm at night so I can get enough sleep.
- I will try to improve on my mathematics, and try to learn more about the logics behind the math.
To do this, I will try to study using my own time and ask questions whenever I have one.
- I will try to participate more in class discussions.
To do this, I will try to share my ideas more during classes instead of keeping all of my ideas to myself.
During the tutor period today, we discussed about setting goals for 7th grade. Click here to view my goals.
It was hard for me to identify my strengths for the first few weeks because I was worried about all sorts of things so I could not think of anything positive but now, I think everything began to be clear a little by little. In the future I hope that I would be able to cover my weaknesses using my strengths and make everything 100%!!
The grade 7 has begun and I’m in 7A and my tutor is Mr.Curkovic. The biggest change of this year is that the school had provided a laptop for each students to use (CLC). In our tutor group, we have made an infographic to explain how much time we use on our laptop and see if it is a effective way of using a laptop.
I thought of the design of my infographic by looking at a bar graph first, thinking if I could change some parts of the graph to make it look more interesting and my answer was to put it upside down. Also, I have looked at some examples of infographic online and here is an excellent example I have found online.
From this example, I have thought that I could take the idea of measuring the time by the weight of the computer. So I have calculated all of the percentages and converted them into the amount of weight based on the weight of the original computer. During the process of making it, I have used Comic Life (to tilt the images), pages (to add text both vertically and horizontally), and Keynote (to get the basis of the background and color.
Hope you would like it and I’m looking forward for some feedbacks, opinions, suggestions! See you!
