Storytelling Preformance
May3
In drama we preformed a story with different techniques such as narration and audience interaction. We preformed with a group of four people. The people in my group were May, Rohan and Tom. Our story was about how the Aztecs found a new home with the help of their God. The Aztecs followed their God (disguised as an eagle) to find their new homeland.
How did I perform as the character etc?
I was an aztec who was looking for a home in our story. I think that I could have preformed better, and I could have been more enthusiastic and more into the character.
What were some difficulties? And solutions?
I think that the kids were more interested in the “yellow fluffy thing” (the eagle) and it was less about the aztecs finding a home. We just played along and integrated more about the eagle into the story because they seemed much more interested in it.
What were some of my achievements?
I think that it was an achievement that we made the kids laugh with the eagle. I think that the kids really enjoyed the part when we were looking for our home and the eagle. I think I also got better at performing with a time limit to practice. We had only a few classes and every clas one person was absent from our group so we had to work it all out and eventually it all came together.
What group was successful and why?
I think that Mary, Iruka, Jamie and Axel’s group was very successful. They used voices that indicated that they were different characters and they didn’t use many props but they ones that they used were very effective. All of the people in their group had equal parts and they used many different techniques such and narration and chants.
