In technology we have been working on making tutorials, we have just finished making our tutorials.

I think the Area of Interaction that fits best with the project is Community and Service.  I think this best fits the project because you are teaching someone how to do something such as creating 3D letters.  I think it also fits the project because you are helping people learn about new topics and broadening someones views.

I think the Approach to Learning that I used in this project the most was organization because I had to organize my project before I made it.  I also used critical thinking skills because I had to think of different views and how to make my tutorial the best it could be.

I think the IB Learner Profile I demonstrated in this project was inquirer because I asked questions about the applications I didn’t know how to use and I asked how to do certain things I didn’t know how to do.

For the past few technology classes we have been working on creating a tutorial.  My topic was “How to Create 3D Letters.”

I have learned a lot making my tutorial.  I learned that when you are working on a large project that you should pace yourself and split up the work for different days.  It was much easier to do the work over a few days instead of doing the night it was due.  I also learned that I should always have someone look over my work before I completely finish working.  I had to make my video twice because I didn’t have someone check over my work before I exported my movie.

I think it was a long road to get to my finished work but I am satisfied with my final movie.  I think I did the best job I could at this point.  I hope that my work is as good as it could be.

I think the process of making my tutorial was hard but it was also very fun.  It was difficult to create because there were so many steps to film the video at home and create the movie at school.

I think my tutorial meets many of the criteria.  One of the criteria I think I meet very well is the “detailed” criteria.  I think I meet this well because I show each step separately so the viewer can tell which step is which.  Another step I think I did well on was the “length” criteria.  I think I meet this criteria well because I kept my video under 3 minutes so the viewer wouldn’t get bored at the end.

I have a lot more to learn to make a much better tutorial.  I think I need to use a better camera next time because my video was sometimes blurry.  I also think I need to be able to use iMovie better because it was a bit hard to make the video.

Excellent tutorial design in a key element in making a tutorial. I think my plan demonstrates excellent tutorial design. One of the reasons I think so is that my video is under 3 minutes so the audience won’t get bored trying to learn what I’m demonstrating. My plan for the tutorial is also detailed, it shows every step needed to make 3D letters. One of the most important things in a tutorial is having a clear voice. I think my video will have this because I took a test video for my tutorial and if my voice was unclear I could try again and make my voice clearer.

Another important part of making a tutorial is making sure the viewer learns the skill you are trying to teach.  My plan ensures that the viewer will learn the skill because I have both audio and a visual planned for my video. I also give the viewer time to try the step I just showed. My plan also ensures that the viewer will learn the skill because it has a clear view of each step that I show.

There are many things you have to learn to make a tutorial.  You have to learn how to organize your ideas, because you need to have a plan about your tutorial.  You also need to learn how to use a video editor. This skill is very helpful because you have to put all the video clips together and make the video look nice using the video editor. Another skill you should learn to make a tutorial is being able to operate a video camera. This skill is also very useful because if you are filming your tutorial you have to be able to operate the camera.
