I am up and packing my bag! Everything that I will need for the big hike! The hike is supposed to be from 9 am to 4 pm! I am so excited! I love hiking! There are two dogs that are going to be with us! Teddy, who I walked first and who listens to me, and Ski, who James walked first and Ski listens to him! We started our hike and continued through paths of vegetation and so much insects and views! It was beautiful! After a while we reach a really steep hill that lasted around 15 minutes! It was painful! We reached a clearing! I could barley see a metre in front of me! The fog was so thick! I walked slowly, following instructors voice! When we reached the clearings edge we sate and waited for the other group of hikers to arrive! When everyone was there we all took a photo of all of us! I was caring and let other people sit with the dogs!
The hike continued long and fun! We reached our top point at around 1 and ate a fabulous curry! The curry was so good! I went for seconds and the food was so good! I played with teddy and I practiced our skit with our group. We made our way back down it was faster and nice! We made our way back to the hotel and then we practiced our skit and ate our dinner! After dinner we had our last time to practice before we preformed them! After our final practice we made our way back down to the dinning room to perform our skits! I sat through 7 skits enjoying the skits and filming them! It was our turn to go up! Then they told me they changed it well we were preforming! My mind was confused! So confused! At first I bursted out laughter, because I was embarrassed and then we started again and I was making a fool of myself! After that Kate rushed out crying! I followed and our group comforted her. We had a game and after a long night we all fell asleep!
Up at 2:30am, so many girls are talking! I am really, really mad! I was yelling “SHUT UP” all night! The time when everyone woke up was 6:30am. The boys got up early and they started playing soccer, when one of the instructions were “we will tell you when to get up!” We had cereal and toast for breakfast. We started the day in a matter of minutes. My group was the first to do MTB (Mountain Biking). I was a Risk-Taker because I joined the extreme group! The ride was very interesting. We stopped at this little river, the water was clean and pure! I drank the water straight from the river. The water was icy and clean.I drank quiet a lot!!! After that we had a very steep hill to ride up. We made our way back to the camp site about an hour or two later! Then we had lunch. I got prepared to go canoeing out in the river after lunch.
Canoeing was really fun. my partners were Kate and Daniel. We worked together, well and cooperated very well. We were very in sink with each other. We all played a game of dodge ball in the river and then our group was the fastest of them all so we led the group. I had a lot of fun rowing around the river. At the end of it all we had a race and our team won.
After that we all packed our bags and headed for the hotel. The bus ride was around 15 minutes. When we reached the hotel the first thing that caught our eyes was the olympic ski ramp. It was huge. We all made our way in and got our room key and made our way up to to our room, 303. We put our suitcases down and had free time till dinner. I visited the boys rooms right above, because they had really big rooms; they were to stories! I thought it a was unfair, but then again there was a lot more boys than girls in our grade! We had our nice dinner, I though it was as good as Grandma Sue’s cooking, but it was good enough to fill me up. After dinner we got ready for bed, some people took an Onsen bath and some just took a shower. I went to sleep around 11:00pm that night.
Today I am getting my bagged packed to do team building and river clean up! The whole grade walked to the river. We were separated into 4 groups. I was in group three. The first activity was helium sticks, helium was really fun, but really challenging. We all had to lift a bamboo stick up in the air. Some of us went to fast of to slow, so the stick was unbalanced. The second game was lava crossing. We had to work together to get all of our group over. There was a magic helmet that let you go over the lava, without dying. The group was very open-minded everyone’s ideas, and excepted ideas.
About an hour or two later, after all of the team building activities we had lunch. We had a very nice BBQ. It had meet, vegetables and Yakisoba. The food was really fantastic. I cooked most of the food and ate a lot! I was all full and I helped wipe down tables and clean up the BBQ’s. I dipped my feet in the ice water that flowed down the river. Then it was time to do our activities. Mine was the river clean up! I thought that it was going to be picking up a bunch of trash out of the river, but no, I was way off. We started out by walking along the river. We were trying to find a safe place to cross. I was near the back and I wanted to walk across the river, but I wasn’t allowed. Though Leticia is allowed, I can’t. Kate and I were walking together jumping from rock to rock. When wright in front of us, Ms.Leatham fell and her leg swelled up. After that kate and I ran along jumping of huge rocks and racing to catch up with the team ahead of us! When we caught up we jump up some rocks to the top of a water fall and crossed. Kate and I helped the people cross. Leticia slipped and fell into the water and became drenched in water. Then was helping lucas cross and he slid and I fell into the water and became drenched like Leticia. When we all finished the cross, we had another ahead of us. This time the river was really fast and it was very cold! The water was nee to waste depending on how short you are! We crossed and then we were drying our cloths of and our shoes! After all the crossing and past all the rivers. We went to a store to get some food and made our way back to the hotel we stopped at a foot spa! I sat at the hottest end of the spa! My feet were sort of numb! After that we walked to the hotel and dried of and relaxed for a while. We ate dinner and Leticia and I went down to the dryer to dry our wet clothes!!! That night I had to get a good sleep because I had a big hike tomorrow!
Morning, 5:45am! I’m up and ready to leave. I am getting my mom up to leave. I left around 6:30. Arrived at YIS at exactly 6:45! The driver loaded the bus. I was ready to sleep, though I didn’t feel like it. I was wide awake for the whole bus ride! I was wide awake! I was talking and playing some games on paper! I mostly talked to Charles, James, Leticia and Sophie. When we arrived at camp I was excited, the river was beautiful. We walked down to the camp site with John. First we all explore the little area of land, there was the river and a little rocky beach!!! The teacher explained the rules for the day and for the night ahead. We had to sleep in tents and sleeping bags. The teachers told us to grab our tents and start to set the tents up! My roomies are Sophie, Leticia and Kate! We all know how to set up a tent so it was easy! We were the first people finished, so we got to choose the nicest sleeping bag! There was only one thermal blanket so I took it!!! Ha Ha Ha! So I was very warm that night! The first night we ate chile for dinner it was really good! After dinner we changed into warm clothing! We all went to a camp-fire along the road from the camp site. We made a big circle, we sang songs told stories and jokes. The night was long and cold and very long. Half of the girls stayed up yelling “SHUT UP” to people that were talking! It was long but nice. Many of the people have experienced rain all through out the camp, so most of us were excited about the camp fire because we hadn’t had one before.
