I hope you enjoy reading my story.
I only have a few more weeks to go until I can start walking again! A few weeks ago, the doctor took my cast off, and now I am only wearing a thin cotton to protect my leg. When I am at home, I take the cotton off, and wear nothing on my leg. I can even take a shower or bath now without covering it up in plastic.
My two bones in my leg have now joined together. At home, I am now starting to develop my muscles in my leg, so then it will be easier for me to walk. At the moment, my leg muscles are very hard and tight because I have not used the muscles for over 2 months.
I can now put 1/3 of my weight on my broken leg.
When I first took the cast off a few weeks ago, my leg looked absolutely disgusting. The skin was all peeling off, because it hadn’t been washed for 2 months. The leg was also very skinny because I hadn’t used it for 2 months. I sure felt good when I soaked my broken leg in hot water! It was also extremely itchy, and red rashes were beginning to form on the skin.
But, now, after a few weeks, my leg is looking very normal, and you can hardly tell the difference between the 2 legs.
