The following is a list of all entries from the Humanities category.
Minecraft Building Project
I am fairly pleased with the Parthenon that my teammate and I built for this project. Although it is lacking in some detail and it is not exactly to scale, it still gives a good impression about the building.
We built our building using half stone slabs. This allowed us to add more detail and make it more to size. For example, we would not have been able to make the roof look correct if we had used full size stones. I like the detail that we added on the entryway and that it has the appearance of an arch. If I were to change anything about the building, I would make the roof extend out more from the columns. I think this would look better. If I had more time, I would have added a second room and another door. This would have been more accurate to the real building.
Humanities France and Vietnam influences
For my slideshow, I made comparisons between France and Vietnam from the influences of colonization. I liked the variety of pictures I was able to find from France and Vietnam to represent the different influences that each country had on each other. For one of the slides, Law, I could found it difficult to find a image that represented Law. I thought about using a picture of legal documents or books but could not find a picture. So I decided to use a picture of a prison located in Vietnam to represent the Law. I’m proud that all of the pictures came from the preferred cc search engine. I also tried to make the slide entitled ”When one country takes over another” very detailed. One area I would have liked to improve is my transition slides. I think I could have maybe added a picture or a quote to these slides. Another thing I would like to have changed is the sizes of several pictures could have been bigger.
Coat of Arms
My coats of arms had two wrenches at the top because I love engineering and i have apples on the side because apples is my favorite food. in the shield the logo if a fox because thats what my last name means and the staffs and sword are just decoration.
Humanities End of Year Reflection
All human beings collectively the human race, the quality of being human. Also the study of literature, philosophy, art, etc. What were the most important thing you learned this year?
I think the most important part I learned was the about the silk road because not only that it has a lot of history but its still around today and I learned about how valuables can be anything from spices to ores.
What were the most interesting things you learned?
Creating a civilization because for as much that you made fake it had to seem very real. Also I really found it interesting because I found not being able to fit all the stuff that is needed on my island.
What content/topic would you like to see including next year?
More Geography. We had a little this year but that was only to do with humans Adaptations and and where animals are in each hemisphere. What I Want for geography is more study about different continents and how different or similar they are.
Humanities
In class I was watching a video about a tradition on tongue piercing in Nepal. are teacher was asking us all sorts of questions that you would think are easy but it was a twist. He asked is it normal now a lot of you would have probably said no but it it was yes because for them it is. There is no normal in life it all depends where you are, perspective almost. Another question was is it illegal again it all depends where you are in us its proudly illegal to stick a stake nettle in your tongue. Another question was is it shocking I thought yes very but then I thought no because there all sorts of weird things that happened all around the world and this isnt the only thing thats weird for us.
What I think of field studies
I expect to study a lot, mostly about the culture. I think this, because there is ”studies” in the name ”field studies”. But I also think we will have fun, because our teachers told us we would go hiking, balloning, and canoeing.
The best thing about being on field studies is being with friends and makng new ones.
I expect to learn Japanese culture. This will help me because I’m new to Japan and this will help me “fit in” a little more.
The onlt thing that im not relly looking forward to is hot air balloning, because and I dont relly like heights.
