Music Performance Unit Reflection
Our first unit in music class was a solo of an instrument of our choice. Each of us had to do a solo on their instruments. For my instrument, i choose a cello. It was my first time to ever touch a cello. During this unit, I learned the basics of how to play the cello and reading the cello notes. While we were playing with the whole class as a group, I tried to listen to the beat and match the speed as everyone else. For my solo performance I had to practice a lot. The only problem was that I didn’t have a cello at home so I had to take the school cello home, but I could only take it home on the week ends so I didn’t have much time to practice my solo.
I think that as being a beginner at the cello, I am doing pretty well as a musician. In this unit the hardest thing was probably the practice time at home. I tried to take the cello home every week end but that was really hard because I couldn’t take it on the train because its too big, so my mom or dad had to pick me up every friday. I really liked this unit because I got to play the cello and I have been wanting to play the cello for my whole life. My future goals are to be able to play a bit advanced songs on the cello and maybe join an orchestra or some other group like that.
