Humanities Blog Challenge

by on Jun.05, 2012, under Humanities

Hello

This week we have started to do a blog challenge that our humanities teacher assigned us. Our teacher said that if we do well we will get a prize.

What Are Humans:

Humans begined to be apes called Homo Sapiens. Then they developed meaning that they started to become smarter. At the start Homo Sapiens had to eat food or you can say bugs that looks gross to us but the Homo Sapiens didn’t know that was gross because thats their normal food. Also bugs have protein too. There used to be Homo Sapien tribes so when they found meat that could be eaten tribes would fight to choose which tribe will have the meat.

What were the most important things you learned this year:

In this unit the most important unit we learned was the unit we had before the one we are doing right now called Human Civilization. In that unit we learned about seven topics and they were, Class System, Writing System, Architecture, Economy, Religion, Division Of Labour and Laws and Government. I think that is the most important because we should learn what are the differences with other countries.

What Were The Most Important Ideas You Learned:

The most interesting unit was the unit we are learning now, The Silk Road. I like this unit because before I didn’t know what the silk road was until I knew it was a time when people traded things like, ceramics, paper etc. One assignment was to make a presentation with a partner about a country in the silk road. Our country was Samarkand which is in Asia.

What Content/Topic Would You Like To See Included Next Year:

Next year I would like to see included on a humanities assignment, The Silk Road because even though the unit has not finished yet there are some things I would like to learn more.

Culture

by on Apr.26, 2012, under Humanities

Hello

Last week we  watched some videos about culture. Not all videos were about food as maybe you were thinking. It was about food and traditional things that they do.

In this project we had to pick one video from the 7 we watched and type in 3 questions about it. I picked the very first video. The video was about these food explorers going to this festival in New York to taste these unusual food. The food they were eating were sometimes bugs, animal guts and also EYES.

1. Why would people want to eat this kind of food?

2. How did the chiefs make this so delicious?

3. Can these kind of food be famous all around the world?

I think that this is not illegal because this is a food but you will have to kill a poor animal. You might need to eat this in some point if there is no food around but a few animals.

This is not similar to other countries because I have never seen anybody eat that before.

In all of the kind of food they had in there I would like to try the tarantula.
