In English we watched Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark.

We then were assigned to experts groups about different topics.  I was put into the Symbolism group along with Johan,  Charlotte and Sean.  We then made a Voice Thread presentation where we talked about our reflection.  Below is our group reflection.  Hope you enjoy!

In English we have just finished our exams.

We were asked to answer the two questions below:

  • What can I target between now and Grade 7?
When I write stories I should try to connect my paragraphs so the reader understands the order.  I should try to use more connecting words to connect my paragraphs.  I should try to use better grammar.  In the exam I used “ing” in the wrong place when I should’ve used “ed.”  In a news report reporters exaggerate stories so it catches more of the reader’s attention.  I think I can develop this skill even more.
  • How will I do it?
When I read books or newspapers I should look how the author or reporter connects the paragraphs so I can develop my own skills.  In a news report the reporter connects each paragraph with one sentence or word so people are still hooked with the idea.  When reading a book or story the author is really good at using the right grammar.  So when I read books I should look at how and where they use it so when I write a story I can use the right grammar.  Sometimes when I tell a story I sometimes exaggerate the story.  I think I should transfer this into my stories.

In English I have been reading a detective book called Murder on The Orient Express by Agatha Christie.  I thought this book was full of suspense and mystery.

I had 1 comment on my first podcast and the person said to add more questions.  I think I didn’t put these things into this podcast.  I should improve on these if we have a next podcast.

I think if I worked with other people we could have a discussion about the book and we could put our ideas to make an even better podcast since a group of people are contributing their ideas so the podcast would be great.

I could improve by putting in more questions then answer them.  I could also sound more enthusiastic so the audience would think that I really liked this book which I did.

Below is my podcast if you have any comment or questions comment.

“The bushes rustled…”

“The world fell silent.”

“My heart started beating faster.”

“A tumbleweed rolled across the dessert as I locked eyes with my opponent.”
