Gymnastic reflection
Uncategorized June 3rd, 2012
During P.E., we learnt about using our body to make different shapes and poses. Our assignment was to make a gymnastic performance using a variety of posses assigned. I grouped up with my friends, Mimi, Marina and Elina.
The skills we used in our performance was front and back rolls, cartwheel and balance. Those are the three main skills we mainly worked on other than timing and patterns.
I think our movements were sequenced. We moved at the same time than I expected to move. I liked how we flowed in different directions and end up in poses. Also, I think we did well on communicating with our eyes so we will move at the same time.
The skill I found the most challenging was balancing. I needed to balance well especially when I was standing in top of Mimi for our pose. It was difficult than I thought but I am glad I was able to do it well. The other skill that was difficult was to not laugh after I fell over on Marina. It was very embarrassing especially infront of everybody.
In the end, I overcame the challenge by doing my best to not laugh afterwards. I concentrated on my gymnastics performance and tried to not recall the incident.
Th most enjoyable skill I did was doing the last front and back rolls before the ending. It was smooth and I had fun with that. I liked how you go front, back and front again. I will not forget the feeling doing it because it was very exciting.
I think our sessions were productive. My group practiced wisely and took brakes only when needed. The last practice was the most productive because we tried to not waste anytime so our performance would at least a tiny bit better. I think my group did work to improve the performance.
If I am to do another performance, I would practice even more so I would not make the same mistakes anymore. Also, I would practice more on my jumps so I would be able to do a little better jumps than this performance.
I think this assignment was vey fun and exciting. I liked choosing the moves and joining them up to make a dance or a performance. It was embarrassing falling over Marina but I think it was a great experience it would be one of the most memorable P.E. lessons in my life.
