IN this assignment we drew a door so that the audience would now that there is a door. First we made a shape of a door nob with are hands and acted that it was stuck. I think this made it more repressive easier to understand. In are performance the window above the door was open so I helped Yudai jump over it and he opened the door from the inside.
The performance went well to the end but I squashed the door open and that ruined some part of it. I think I should of opened the door more realistically because I acted like Hulk in this performance
In drama class, we are learning about stage performances. For a summative assessment we had to watch a video called “Singing in the rain”. This is a song by Gene Kelly who was an actor in old movies. We had to consider what props he uses and how he uses them.
One of the props he uses is his umbrella. However, he does not use the umbrella as an umbrella so much. Only at the start of the song. Instead, he uses it as a cane while holding the umbrella horizontally holding it in both hands. He uses it when he pins around the lamp post and on the road as though it is part of him. He holds he umbrella straight out and spins around while holding it out. He also twirls the umbrella around which is not that unique in my perspective.
He uses a lamp post as well. He does not use the lamp post that much in the whole video. He goes round and round on the post by one hand while holding the umbrella in the other hand. I wonder how he does not get dizzy after he goes around because after he goes around, he showed no sign of dizziness. He uses it as though it is not part of his body but uses it not so unique.
The main prop he used was the rain. He used the rain the whole performance. His use of the puddles was very unique. He was tap dancing in the puddle causing the water to spread. Unfortunately he got caught by a police man. He uses the pipe that drains out rain water by going under it. I think he used these props because he wanted to use things close to him and to show that he is happy in the rain. I liked it very much because he used all the props and objects like living people.
In drama class we did a speech which was about a person we know well I chose my mom because we have arguments all day long and it’s quite a funny life.
I think I did well not putting my hands in my pocket and speaking out loud. I think I struggled not looking at my cards and I said eh? and yeah and those kind of words that I didn’t exactly need to use. Also for my opinion I think i was to mean to my mom…
I think I did well than usual but I think I need some improvement too. I think I nee to fix my habit of putting my hands in my pockets because I do that all the time.I was pausing too much and was quite fast in talking so I think I should of practiced more so that I can be more paced and relaxed. My voice was some how not clear as usual. I think I was good at using hands and body language in the last part but I froze at the first because I was nervous. For the next time I think I should work on smiling a little bit more.
In the Theatre event we did the games space jump, sound environment and one word at a time. I was in the group Ice scream I think I did well in the sound environment because I made sounds in good with out planning.
The easy Game was sound environment because I didn’t have to perform in front of every one.
The difficult part was space jump. I think so because I didn’t know what to do.
