Zerric's life

During the process of writing my instructional writing, I learned that the structure of the writing is really important to make the instruction easy to understand. I also learned that the instructions had to be short and clear so that the reader can understand easily. In this case a teacher that helped us, Mrs.Clifford said that we should fit the writing in one page. By this I learned that we should change the length of our writing depending on the topic.

These are my values when the yeas started and after.

For me freedom means a lot of things. However mostly freedom means being being what you want to be. Either sexuality wise of profession wise. I think that people can be what they want to be and that no one has a right to change that.However, still there are countries that do not allow being homo-sexual.

Also another thing I think is freedom is equity. I think that it is unfair if one person is aloud to do  something and the other person is not. This is because I think that all living creatures have a right to live and do what they want to do. However, not allowing people doing something is like taking their rights and dumping it in the trash-can.

I also think that people accepting who you are is freedom too. This also includes racism. When white people were people were criticizing black people they said that the black people were not human. However they are and did not choose to be colored. I think it is none sense to criticize things that are the same as your self.

Finally the last thing I think is freedom is friend ship and relations. I think that no one has the right to separate people that love each other except those two. Also I think that it is unfair to do that.

Before I thought that a country doesn’t have relations with other countries. Although now I think the countries are desperate to help other countries because of 3.11

Holly Thompson visited Y.I.S on august 30th 2012. She talked about her writing style and every thing that an author needs or does. We noticed that she had an interesting writing style that no author else has. She uses all the spaces and lines to  make the readers stop. Sometimes there is a page that only has one line in it, so that the reader stops when they tern the page. This is a picture of Holly Thompson when she visited are school.

When we asked her about why she writes about by-cultural  people she said that she went to a mikan farm where she studied Japanese, there was a by-cultural girl who really felt like an outsider and she thought that writing about them might become a good book. This is why she wrote the book Orchards. Also when we asked her what audience she said that it depended who she was writing to, and that she never thinks about it until she finished writing books.When I asked if every book has a meaning to it. She said that it wasn’t hers to decide and that the readers are the ones to decide. After Holly Thompson left we represented our presentation that we did about Holly Thompson. Holly Thompson visit noticed me that writing isn’t just about writing and has a lot of meanings to it. It was really cool for her to visit and I want to thank her.

In English class we are learning about filming techniques. I was partners with Taro and the angles we chose are low angle and high angle.

We are learning these things because our unit is about new reports and articles. What worked was that we took great picture that showed clearly what angles we were taking these pictures in. But nothing really did not workout because it was a easy task.

In English class we read different Sakura medal books and made are own podcast. My Sakura medal book was called “Born to fly” This is my first podcast I ever made!

How did having a real audience (family, friends and the whole world!) affect your speaking?

This made me really nervous because I didn’t  want so many people to listen to my mistakes and laugh at me, so thinking like that made me think that it needs to be perfect and that gave me so much pressure!

How did working with others help my learning?

My podcast wouldn’t be have been that good if I haven’t had my friends helping me like Sena that chose us the introduction that was really exiting!

how could I improve my next podcast?

I think this time I stopped to much or repeated one word more than twice because i got stuck on what to say even if I had my speech ready. So I think the next time I do a Podcast I can improve by practicing many more times.
