During our Gymnastics unit in PE, we worked on our Gymnastics performance as a group. I did in a group with Mimi, Maya and Elina.

In our performance, we used many skills such as forward and backward rolls and cartwheels. Elina worked on front and back rolls, while Mimi, Maya and I worked on front and back rolls and cartwheels.

Our movements were sequenced since all four of us used different sequences except using the same sequence at the very end. I think we were mostly flowing together, but in some places we were not flowing together.

The most challenging skill was the poses. You have to keep the pose for a few seconds. Also, it was hard to help my group mates form the poses, and sometimes they lost balance and fell down. I think we overcome this challenge since I became more stable for the people who were going on me. For example, when Elina was going on me and Mimi’s legs, I usually found it ticklish and moved my leg but by practicing our poses, I overcome that ticklish feeling.

I think the cartwheel was most enjoyable in all of the skills I did because I have liked to do cartwheels since 3rd grade. I also liked the vault when I jumped over it and landed on the mat safely.

Our practice sessions were productive and our group worked hard to improve the performance but sometimes we sang a made-up song which caused us to laugh so hard. But when the day to perform came closer, we concentrated more to work even harder on our performance to make it look good.

Maybe we should improve our use of spacing because I think we were mainly performing in the middle, and not on the side of the mat. Also, we used the same sequence; go to the middle, break up into two groups and roll to each side of the mat.

On our actual performance, Maya fell off when we were doing the pose, but luckily Mimi and Elina covered it with their cartwheels and front rolls so I satisfied with our performance was very good. I really enjoyed doing this session!!
