Due to racism many people will and do live in fear of being hurt, not having enough money to survive and being down right hated. Because of this it has made it a very hard life for black, Asian, and brown people very hard to live. One of many men that did not feel this racist fear is Barack Obama, he stood up to the racial boundary to become the first black president of the USA and is now on his second term of presidency after being re-elected late last year. In Australia many different races of people are treate poorly because the people are insensitive to their beliefs and ways. One of the major ways of this is happening is the white people making fun of the indigenous people of Australia by mocking them, abusing them things like that.

On the thirtieth of August two thousand and twelve the author Holly Thompson visited our school. She talked to us about writing poems and books in verse. she taught us that you should make a ideas book to help you make books and poems. She told us that the author doesn’t chose the cover and only sometimes helps with the blurb.During the visit we went through a power point about narrative poems and her hit book Orchards. We had to make a poem on a previous event in our life, I did mine on the time when a firework went up my sleeve in korea. I sat at a table with Spencer, Johan and Arunansu. We  were aloud to make it on the computer on on paper in our book. I had a lot of fun in the time we spent with her it was a great way to start off the 7th grade. My favorite part was making the poems and read the part of orchards that we read (we read chapter 22). I think that she is a great inspiration and that she is a great writer and I like her books.

For english we had to film two shot or angles using phones, cameras, etc. I used my Ipod. The main reason we had to do this is so that we can understand shots and angles for the future when we make our movie. I found that using the space of the roof for this task was good because we could easily take long shots and panorama with out running into tables or chairs. I think that using the ipod didn’t work because its not good quality. I learnt that there is a type of shot called an extra long shot.

I did a first podcast last semester and I got a lot of feed back helping me. I was told that I improved my script from the first podcast. Working with others might help me next time because we could have a conversation instead of just a boring report. I could improve my next podcast by doing it with someone else.
