During class in the last few weeks, we have been focusing and making our own Tutorials. To get ideas, we have been watching videos on YouTube and other video sites. Since I like Minecraft, I have been watching videos related to the game.

Our first assignment was to watch different tutorial videos. We used a document created by our Technology teacher. We filled in all the required information. I did mine on Minecraft. I watched four different videos, and we had to choose our favorite one. My one was about creating your own Minecraft server. It was a pretty long video, and got boring at the end, but when I was able to accomplish it, I was very happy. In class, we switched computerswith a partner, and we watched our partners favorite video. In this case, Johan was my partner. His video was related to Origami, and the video seemed to be very simple. But the folding was NOT! The person made it look very easy, but I have tried Origami, and when I finish it, it never ends up how its supposed to be. My video was pretty long, so he couldn’t finish, which I could understand. After all of that, we gave our opinions about the video.

We were assigned to comment on other peoples blogs. I chose Justin’s and Sena’s

Sena’s video was about tap dancing. Justins’s video was about surviving your first night on Minecraft. I thought both of these videos were fun to watch, but Sena’s didn’t seem easy. It looked very complicated, but I think it would be very easy for him.

During this unit, I learned a lot on how to make my own tutorial. I think I need a very clear voice, and if i’m doing a screen recording, I should slow down to the important steps. I have learned a lot in this unit, and would like continuing this unit.

After that class, we started planning out are own tutorials. The two lessons were mostly filled by this activity. A week has gone by, and westarted to make our own tutorials. We used snapshots, instead of a screen recording. Before we did this presentation, we brainstormed ides on this document. This was a plan for our real one. This is my presentation of my tutorial.

I think my tutorial compared to my other one is quite similar. However, I did miss a few important steps.

I think I made my presentation detailed enough, and I included most of the important tips. However, I did miss a few steps. If I added these steps, I think my presentation would look very good.

Overall, I thought this unit was very fun and watching all of these videos great. I would like to learn more in Technology class.
