How to Make a Good Presentation from YIS Academics on Vimeo.
This is a tutorial video of “How to Make a Good Presentation.”
For this unit, we made our own tutorial video of the topic we chose in class. My topic was about how to make a good presentation. During create, What I learned is that before you make your final copy, you have to be perfectly planned out so you are ready to make a better tutorial. What I think about the tutorial is
As I was making my own tutorial, I learned that the tutorials has to be simple but informative. I learned this by when I was looking my first tutorial video, it was simple but it did have that much detail in it and it didn’t really make sense. The second thing I learned was that demonstration is really important. I learned this because when I watched other people’s tutorial, they were not just talking about the steps but they were also doing the steps at the same time which was very useful. The third thing I learned was to not have things that will distract the video. I learned it by when I finished making my first tutorial video, and went in the edit section, I tout it may be better to put in little music in the back but when I heard my video with the music in it, it was kind of distracting and couldn’t concentrate.
I think I am happy with my finished product because I tried my best and I think my video was simple but detailed. I also thought that the final product was better than I though it would be.
I think it was easy and difficult to make the tutorial. The part that was easy was when i shooter my video because I already had the script and I just had to read it. The part that was difficult was when I was making script because I have to stick all the ideas I made when I was planning.
My tutorial meets the criteria of simple because it was not too complicated and the video length was not too long or short. My video also meets the criteria of one step at a time because before each step there is a slide that tell you what the next step is about. I also think it meets the criteria of demonstration because when I was talking about the steps, I was also showing the steps on the computers.
To make a better tutorial, I have to add repetition so the audience can make sure that they can copy the right steps.
I also looked at other people’s tutorials from other classes. First, I watched at Charlotte’s (6A) tutorial video about how to do a Layup. Next I watched at Raveena’s (6B) tutorial video about how to write a kanji. At last, I watched at Kate’s (6A) Tutorial video, which is about how to remember 13 strings in koto. By viewing the tutorials, I learned that they all are demonstrating what you will have to do very clearly, and I think demonstrating is very important because then the person who is learning that thing will get to do it easier.
What I thought about this unit was I really think it was a very fun unit and I enjoyed making my own tutorial. I think I could have made my pace of my voice more faster because I was concentrating on the demonstration of the steps, I think I talked too slow.

Hi Keina
I think your tutorial is a wonderful tutorial.
It makes it wonderful because it shows the computer screen so that is more easy to do it in real life.
The criteria “step by step” really matches your tutorial.
I learned how you can write a excellent presentation!

Hi Keina,
Nice blog!
This is a good tutorial because it has opening music for every step and so I think that it lets me know when there is another step coming. Also because you say what the step is going to be in the slide before so it gives the watcher an idea of what they are going to do next.
I learnt that you shouldn’t have your script on the actual presentation because otherwise it takes up to many pages and it doesn’t look as efficient. Also it is good to have graphs and pictures so that the people watching don’t just look at words and they actually have something to look at other than words. And graphs area good because they show your understanding and shows the data.
The criteria that this tutorial met was probably volume. The music wasn’t to loud or to soft and so it doesn’t hurt the watchers ears and doesn’t leave them toggling with the volume keys.
Thanks Keina

Great job Keina! I’m glad that you learned so much by creating your own tutorial! I think your point about being really well planned out is really important. Because you had such a good storyboard, and you were able to create your tutorial really quickly, you were also able to get some really good feedback to improve your work. Well done!
