Koto Concert in Futaba Girls’ School
Today our koto group from 6grade performed a few piece with a koto in Futaba Girls’ School. We had our lunch faster than usual. We went to ICJC to eat our lunch at 12:00 and headed to Futaba at 12:30. Everybody was wearing a formal clothes and we looked smart! (jk)
It took about 10 minutes walking from our school. When we arrived to Futaba School we were amazed how clean and nice it was. The toilet flusher was automatic, the floors were shiny, and the auditorium where we performed was huge. When the students and parents were ready to listen, we walked up the stage. There wasn’t many people but I was worried because I needed to do a little speech. The show(?) started at 1:15. We played a song called Okoto first. At the first part somebody in the other group made a horrible mistake which made us confusing. Then Eddie and Tomoka played solos. Eddie’s solo was a fast beat song but not Tomoka’s. After that we played Hana Ikada. As that finished, we taught the students from Futaba School about koto and how to play them. We played and instruct them how to play a Japanese traditional song called Sakura. One girl knew how to play Sakura and she was good. It was hard talking with girls but it was okay. Then Futaba School choir group and the koto group played a song called Tsubasa Wo Kudasai. I was amazed how clean their voice were. I really enjoyed it so far but the speech came up into my head…. I said in front of everbody that It was fun playing with you guys and I hope we can play one more time. It wasn’t long but I was extremely nervous.
We were going back to our school. Dr Amato gave us ice creams to each of us. I had fun playing with them and I was also happy that we missed classes.
By the way, I saw a monster called Chris in the ICJC!!! Thank you Futaba Girls’ School students!
