Beckham likes listening to music. His favorites as stated on his Facebook page include Jay-Z, Jonas Brothers, U2, Eminem, Justin Bieber, The Beatles and Bob Marley.(so Pop music/ Dance/house music.)

Why does he listen to this music?

I think he listens to this type of music, because the melody and tempo of each of these songs are very upbeat and probably pump him up in a way, to play. Also “Lose Yourself” by Eminem probably the lyrics of the song:” Look, if you had, one shot, or one opportunity. To seize everything you ever wanted, one moment,Would you capture it? Or just let it slip”Probably gives kind of inspiration to take advantage of his opportunity to shoot a goal.

Playlist:

1. Hello Goodbye – The Beatles

2. Lose Yourself – Eminem

3. Inseparable – Jonas Brothers

4. All around the world – Justin Bieber

5. With or Without you – U2

6. 99 Problems – Jay Z

7. Jammin’ – Bob Marley

8. No woman, No cry – Bob Marley

9. I want to hold your hand – The Beatles

10. Beauty and a Beat – Justin Bieber

What all these songs have in common is a very strong recognized beat, which makes these song pump him up for the games.

Basically what we did in the fair game unit was get into groups of four and create part of a amusement park in minecraft, Every groups part of the amusement park had a different theme eg: Atlantis, Horror etc, each individual made a structure in their groups amusement park. For our fair game unit we went through 5 main stages( The design cycle) which were: Investigate, Design, Plan, Create and finally Evaluate(which this blog post is about). In the investigate stage we talked generally about what collaboration is in general and how we should work in groups. We found out more about minecraft and how we could use it. We learned more about what we going to do in the later parts of the unit. In the design stage of the unit we basically designed what out groups part of the amusement park would look like and what each person wanted their structure to look like. We shared out designs with the class. In the plan staged we basically set out what we would do each lesson( how long it would take, what we would do in order and what resources we would need. Finally came the create stage where we made the amusement park in general. This blog post is the evaluate stage . Our significant concept was: How we solve problems depends on the conditions of the environment and group dynamics. Our unit question was:What does cooperation and collaboration look like?

Use your tests from Part A to assess your product/solution

Is the size of the building going to be an accurate representation of your building?(Is it the appropriate scale and size?) I think it is pretty accurate, It was on scale compared to the other people in my groups structures because all my group’s building are pretty much the same size, all though it wasn’t the actual size I decided I was going to do, but in the end the scale and size I think pretty much worked and was a accurate representation of my building:) Is the layout placed well? Overall in my groups entire layout I think it was okay, I think some of our structures were a bit too crowded and we could have separated everything out a little more so everyones building could stand out more. Which was in our original plan. Is my location of my structure appropriate? Yes I think so, although as I said before it’s a bit too crowded because like my building is almost in the corner of the ocean ground so its a bit I guess I could say its a bit annoying for the people who would go to my hotel. Does it match the theme of Atlantis? Yes I think my structure is, because it has the pilars on the top and since everyone in my groups building is using the same blocks it looks pretty much in the Atlantis theme, and although I could have added a bit more of a atlantis theme, by maybe using more pilars and adding more detail to the building. Is the structure complete? Yes my structure is complete, even though I could have added a bit more detail to it, I think I did my best to complete it and it looks pretty good in my opinion. Is it designed well(is it aesthetically pleasing?) I think it is, it doesn’t really have a ugly parts to it in my perspective but I could have added some flowers or something to make it more aesthetically pleasing.Does my structure have a purpose? Yes, the purpose of my structure is a hotel where people can stay and relax. Does my structure convey a mood?, I think my structure conveys the mood of maybe relaxed and chill like, I guess it’s sort of fancy but at the same time it makes you feel comfortable. Does my structure attract attention? Sort of, but the fact in the matter is that, the rides obviously would attract more people, because they genuinely look more interesting for example, Julia’s ride looks more interesting compared to mine but I guess it depends on the audience.

How could your product/solution be improved?

My product/solution could be improved by, as I said before adding more detail to my part of the amusement park in general. More specifically I could have added more pilars. Also if I looked at the Temple of Olympian:

Like if you look carefully at the lines on each of the thing pillars, I could have done that to give it two new effects which would be making it more like the theme of Atlantis and it would make it look more “fancy”. Also the thing at the very top of the pillars. More generally to improve my whole entire group’s part of the amusement park we could have added more space between each building generally so it doesn’t look overcrowded, also the format was a bit too unnatural so it looked to man made and lost the theme of atlantis a bit.

3. Evaluate your use of the Design Cycle. Honestly think about your use of the Design Cycle through the Booklet. Take time for each section. Look at the sections and read them carefully to refresh your memory. Also mention a statement on the significant concept and unit question.

Throughout this unit as I said before we used the design cycle.I think I did pretty well through the design cycle, although Minecraft isn’t something I’m very good at, I think the design cycle really helped me prepare to work with my group to complete a good part of theme park.

For the investigate part of the unit, I think I did okay, I answered the questions about collaboration and cooperation with a group pretty throughly and added most of my own opinion, rather than just googling it. Also I tried to come up with good ideas on the pros and cons of working alone and vice versa, later when we discussed what minecraft actually is and what it is actually capable of, I think the group I worked in were pretty organized because we made a seperate document for our answers and although we all made our own thoughson minecraft as we talked together we basically came up with the same thing. As we got to the actual project outline, I started to understand more on what we were going to do, and I identified the problem pretty well because I gave a pretty clear, descriptive answer. More toward the end of the investigate stage, I think I did okay, coming up with the idea of our group’s part of theme park’s theme and what I was going to make, although I think our group’s idea was a bit boring and my structure idea was as well, in the end it turned out okay.

Next was the design stage in which we drew designs of what are layout was of part of the amusement park and designs of our own buildings, I think I did okay, I could have thought of more creative ideas and gave more input to my group, also my design of my own structure wasn’t that great but I think I had a good base idea and I liked that I was basing my structure off something some what historical.

Now going onto the plan stage. I think my plan wasn’t as well thought out as I wished, but it was okay . I should have added more details on what were going to do and when, especially since this stage was one of the shortest.

Finally the create stage. I think I did all right on. I should have managed my time better and my group and I should have worked better together on organizing the lake’s circumference and how deep it was going to be, but as we got further and further through this stage, I think we got better at this and started to really work well together and making our individual structures was a pretty easy at that point.

We listened to Rokudan two times in class and we were told to answer the question:”What makes Rokudan sound Japanese?”

I think that Rokudan sounds Japanese because of the tempo like how they speed up sometimes and slow down as well. Also the many different techniques that have been used in Rokudan like sha-sha because the way they play it twice in a row, makes it just have this very Japanese sound that you think of Sakura and just the traditional Japanese traditions, like for example when I watched my full Japanese brother got married they used a lot of repetitive sounds of the drums during the wedding so Rokudan made me think of that. The tuning as well of Rokudan is tuned I think higher so the pitch gives a more of Japanese feel. As well as the many other techniques they use in this and the tempo they play them in like shan, kororin and ato-oshi, they also do these techniques at a good timing. I think also something that makes rokudan sound pretty unique is that it has a touch of the modern world now but it also has some very traditional parts of Rokudan.

What I really like about Rokudan is just the general tone and how it sounds very natural. It makes me feel really calm and kind of makes me feel like im in natural. What I don’t really like about Rokudan is sometimes the notes are hard to follow. But generally I really like this piece.

So in science class awhile ago we did a poster on asteroid mining, we started off by just researching about it and watching in a few videos about in class so we knew what it was all about. After awhile we began to make poster stating what the asteroid mining proposal is, what is a asteroid in general, reasons to support and reasons to oppose and a summary about your own thoughts and opinions on this topic.

I think I did pretty well in some areas of the poster, like I think I got some good facts to back up why and why not to support asteroid mining although, I could have written more statistics and facts, that area of the poster I suppose had most of my good information. Since I had good facts to support this, I could use the facts from this part of the poster to write a good summary and have the facts to back up my opinion, although my summary good have had a bit more scientific vocabulary(and my whole poster in general). I also could have explained more about the mining proposal and used more of my own vocabulary. More on a general view of my poster I could have made it look more colorful and fun to look at by adding more pictures and maybe arranging the words differently.

Out of all I think I did okay on this poster and I could improve slightly on a few things: eg adding more sciency vocabulary and adding more detail to the summary but I think I did quiet well on the other information.

In PE we started our second unit on fitness. We were told to basically say but we would like to improve on for the next few years when it comes to fitness, because we can work harder on the things each individual would like to improve.

I would like to improve my cardio-vascular endurance, because even though I can run pretty well, I still have a lot of area to improve on and I can get faster, for sports I will be doing next year like tennis, basketball and soccer. Also maybe better agility for running, so I can run faster for a longer amount of time. I would also like to improve my muscular strength, specifically in my core, because I would generally like to grow stronger there, as well as upper arms for tennis, so I can hit harder. Also I will need most of these components for high school teams.

So basically in Science class we have been learning about elements like yeah. For a poster we needed to pick any element in the periodic table and basically write about what it is used in, how it helps society and how it damages society.

What are you proud of in your poster?

I am proud of the information on the poster, for example I think I did a good job explaining how boron helps society but I forgot to put the paper on for how it ruins society. I am also proud of like I laid the poster out in general because I think it looks pretty nice.

What would you do differently if you did this again?

Since I forgot to add the how it ruins society I wish, I had remembered to put it on because I think I had a wide variety of information on it. Also I think if I just spend more time on it I would have written more about what its used for.

So during Tutor class, we have been working on what is bullying and what it’s really about. So this is what we have been doing basically.

What is bullying?

Bullying is basically, when one individual or group of people hurt someone or a group of people either with words or just physically , and then the person who gets bullied can’t stand up for themselves, or feels helpless to respond.

What are the forms of bullying?

There are few different types of bullying like the main ones are, physical and verbal. Physical involves doing harmful things to another person’s body. For example: biting, kicking, pushing, pinching, hitting, tripping, pulling hair, any form of violence. Physical bullying is also sometimes messing with another person’s property. Examples include: damaging or stealing. Verbal bullying involves speaking to a person or about a person in an unkind or hurtful way. For example: teasing, name calling, phone calls, spreading rumors or hurtful gossip. Cyber bullying is also form of bullying where, a person or group goes online and says bad things about them, making facebook pages about them, posting on peoples facebook wall’s saying things like “You Suck”, “Your Ugly”, “Go Die”.

What strategies do you have to cope with bullying?

Finding a friend that you can talk to, making sure to stay positive about yourself and not blaming it on yourself. Make fun of it, and be like I really do “suck” as a joke just to ignore it. Tell someone you know and trust and ask them to help you. Stand up to the bully, when it begins or else it will continue, when you stand up to them make sure that you really get to them. But to be honest people don’t really do these things they usually get scared and don’t do it but, these things you should try to do because even though they may be hard to do but they really work.

So during Humanties we have been working on a software called Minecraft. The unit is based on a project before on the renaissance. We basically had to choose historic building with good meaning behind it to create on minecraft and then make a tour guide of the building. We also had to write a script containing good information on the historic landmark and interesting facts not only about the building but how you designed the building in minecraft and whether or not it was the actual size. Watch my tour below:

At first I was a bit to be honest scared because I had never used the game before and I knew it would be hard for me to figure out and actually model a good looking structure, especially since the Statue of Liberty is a real face and you have to have a whole lot of detail, so I considered doing a more simple structure but I kinda wanted to challenge myself, but out of all I felt okay about the whole idea. I think the collaboration wasn’t too good because my partner and I are both not very skilled at minecraft and it was only the two of us, so I felt like I should have gone in a bigger group with a more skilled people in it but again I wanted a challenge. I guess I would have been a little more safer with using a different software or drawing it and I could have made it look a lot better but I guess I am fine with doing either way because it’s good to explore new ways to built things. Maybe yes maybe no, I guess it isn’t really fare for the people who don’t really know how to use minecraft compared to some people who play it everyday for fun and really know how to use it because it could give a big grade difference just because it’s something they enjoy doing and are already skilled at but maybe in a project where the results of the buildings and structures didn’t really matter but just the side work you do.

I think the project went okay for me, it was a bit hard because I have never used the software minecraft before and at first I didn’t even know how to walk around. I think since my structure was a bit basic that it didn’t really show where the structure was built because I didn’t show much of the small parts of the structure that made it look like it was from France but through the information I gave in my tour it made up for that because I talked a little about how the structure was made in France and how it took many years to built, also how it was very important to make and how they tried to raise money to built it. If I had a chance to do this project differently I probably would have dedicated more time on making the actual building, because that was my main weakness and I would have gone with a larger group so I didn’t have to be so worried about finishing in time because I only worked with one other person and we both are beginners at minecraft. I would have also talked more genuinely and been more friendly in my language. As well as maybe talking more about the interesting facts about the Statue of Liberty rather then just some history I talked about. One of the big things I learnt during this project is alot about the history of the Statue of Liberty for example I knew that it was a present from the French but I didn’t know that it placed in New York to welcome others to America or that the base of the Statue of Liberty was made in the US. On the Minecraft side I learnt so much about how to use the software to make simple structures and how you have to work together to really be able to finish the structure.

First the girl she looks down and fiddling around with a cloth thing that she is wrapping around something which shows in some way that she is sad, because of the way she is looking down and how she is handling it gently makes her seem vulnerable. Also a few seconds later she quickly, even though it was clear, she put her head down as if she was going to cry, but then the man he quickly reacts even though hes surprised and goes to comfort her using gestures like making a fist and putting it to his chest like hes saying be strong and we can move on. Some the emotions shown were sadness(when the girl got sad), confusion(when the the man realizes the girl is crying), confident(when the girl changes her facial expression from blank to confident). Analyse the body language of both characters ,commenting on posturem gesture and facial expression.
