Hi,thanks for looking at my blog.I moved schools recently and I have a new blog so here is the link.Thanks for looking at my blog,again.

In PE,we have been doing a gymnastics unit.We got into groups and practiced for a presentation.My group had Francisco,Justin and Tyler.I used a Cartwheel,Front Roll and Backwards Roll.I think that my movements were not good flow but I think that I tried my best.I thought that the cartwheel would be the hardest skill but  it turned out to be the backwards roll because I kept on moving to side and it wasn’t really flowing,or smooth.I think that the cartwheel was my favorite skill even though it was not good at all.I think that we tried our best in the practice and overall it was a fun unit even though I still don’t find gymnastics as one of my favorite sports.Please enjoy!

In english class,we had to take different shots like from above and from below.You could use the shot from below to show that the person has power over you while a shot from above would show that the person is weaker.A long shot could show a wide area to show power that hey have conquered and close ups can show coziness.

I do not have the pictures but I will post them later.

In my English class, we have been reading mystery books recently.I have read Theodore Boone:Kid Lawyer by John Grisham.I thought that it was a great book and my podcast book review is below.

Reflection

In this unit, we have been working on making a tutorial to teach one skill to someone around the world.I chose do teach a very simple one because of the limited choices.What I chose was How to make a good pass in soccer.I used a park nearby my house to take the tutorial.

When we created our tutorial,I had learned not much things. I did learn how to use picture picture (something you can use in iMovie)

We had also commented on two other student’s reflections.I commented on Raveena’s tutorial about kanji, and Sumin’s tutorial on how to be safe in the science room.In both of these tutorials, I didn’t really learn anything because of that I knew how to write the kanji on Raveena’s tutorial and what Sumin had said, we had already learned in science class.But the kanji tutorial would be useful to teach beginners and the safety tutorial can be used in a science class as a real tutorial.

Right now, I am not that happy with my finished tutorial because of the sound quality because it is kind of hard to hear.I also think that the lack of demonstrations could have been why because there weren’t many parts to watch how to do it,in fact there was only one time that you could watch it.Finally,there might have been the lack of instructions that help the viewer learn the facts.

I could say that there were some hard parts in the making,eg. kids kept on shouting so I had to keep on changing the park I used,but overall I could say that this project was mostly easy because I like to use iMovie in my spare time at home,I used it at my last school and at a summer camp that I used to go to when I lived in America so I was used to the application.

In our Tutorial Criteria that we made as a class, I think mine meets Visual Quality, Title, Pacing, Credits and Language.

In order to make better tutorials, I would like to learn more about how to use more advanced tools on iMovie.

I enjoyed this unit because I like to use iMovie and I like to edit videos and pictures and also because I liked the thought of teaching someone and then you could also undirectly teach people who could be all the way across the world.

So, this is my tutorial on how to make a pass in soccer.Yes, it’s really simple and anyone can do this.But I had no choice…

In drama,we have looked at a video clip from a part in the movie Singing in the Rain , by Gene Kelly.He had used the umbrella as a good prop by using it in many ways such as a cane and a walking stick. He grabbed the audiences’ attention by doing funny stuff while tap dancing.He also used the surroudings as props themselves such as using the lamp post to dance.

He showed happiness by smiling and singing happily in the rain laughing.

During this unit,we have been investigating on what are tutorials,what makes a good tutorial and how to make a tutorial.I have made a practice tutorial about how to make a stone pick axe and sword in Minecraft,and I will make a tutorial on how to make an accurate pass in soccer.

In the criteria from the 6A Tutorial Criteria that we made as a class,I think that the ‘Sound Quality:Clear voice, easy to hear, no distracting background noises’ and ‘Step-by-Step:Shows what you’re doing as you’re doing it’ was important,as well as the ‘Examples:Examples to help the audience understand what is happening and why’ would be helpful.

I think that in my storyboard,it shows what to do what,and how to do it.For example,there is a part where I show the audience my shoe up close so that the viewer would know how to use the foot when passing.I think that even though the skill may not be easy for some people,I hope that they would understand how to do it.

I think that all that is left to learn until I can make the tutorial is to just practice the tutorial.

As a conclusion,I think that I have done a good plan for the tutorial.

We used two main Google Documents for this part of the unit.

The first one was the Tutorial Storyboard,which is a storyboard,that has still-motion pictures and has lists of the length of the scene and background noise and etc

The second was the Plan Template in which we made a list of what we need to do to make the tutorial,like ‘get things ready’,'shoot video’,etc,etc,etc.
