Gaming in humanities – Minecraft

The desert is a very dry biome with a small variety of different animals. There is only about 2.5 cm of rain per year and very low humidity. There are many sand dunes which can reach up to 500 feet up and there is also some large rocks sticking out.

There are a few ways for animals to get water. One is that they eat green leaves which contain some water. Another way is Rodent rats, for example, are able to make water inside their bodies at the same time as digesting their food. This is known as metabolic water which is enough for them to survive.

This biome is found are Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Eritrea, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Sudan, Tunisia, Western Sahara,Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and more.

Egyptians made small sand houses with many exits to make air circulation. The egyptians built the houses in their time. Some features of my house are, many exits for air circulation and small so there is less air to cool down.

This is the design of a windcatcher that inspired me. Windcatchers are known in traditional Egyptian architecture. It was revived in Neoislamic architecture as the works of Hassan Fathy. In Egypt the windcatchers are known as “Malqaf”. This windcatcher blueprint showed me exactly how to make the house, except I had to think of how many blocks went were.

In conclusion this project has been fun and entertaining. Half of the time I was playing around with the different items like, tnt, enchantments and fire, but I still managed to finish on time. At the beginning of this unit we all went onto a server and played around making things. But a little later mark came in and grieved all of our creations. We had to research and write about our biomes. In total this unit was very entertaining and fun, I had a great time.

My Favorite Video Tutorial

In Technology class I have researched four tutorials, and these two are my favorite out of those four.

I like 3 easy steps to get over the fear of learning a backflip on a trampoline is because it shows you how to do a backflip at the same time as telling you how to get over the fear of doing a backflip. I also liked it because it showed me how to get over the fear of breaking my neck  by doing smaller steps first, the reason I had to get over the fear of breaking my neck was because if I didn’t then I wouldn’t be able to fully turn around and only land on my back. Another thing is that it showed me examples in slow motion which I think is very useful because then I could see exactly what he was doing but in more detail so then I could do exactly what he did. lastly it tells you exactly what to do and when to do it like when he explains that you have to make your hand touch the trampoline right after your feet leave it, this is good because if you put your hand before your feet leave the trampoline you won’t get enough lift (I have learned this from experience).

I like How to do a Backflip on a Trampoline. Again I like how it shows me how to get over the fear of breaking my neck but also how he explained in a lot of detail for example this: “jump, tuck your knees in, fall back, land on your back and come back onto your feet”. He spoke at a very slow rate, which I think is good because that way I could understand what he was saying and what to do.Also he does it in an open area where there are no distractions and other people. He also taught me that when you first start practicing backflips it’s good to throw your arms up, and that when you start getting better you don’t have to because you will know how to rotate more by moving your body.

January Goal Setting

January is often considered the month for deep reflection. We look back at the year behind us, mourning our regrets and celebrating our successes. And then, we look forward to the future year. We make well-meaning resolutions and hope for the best.
What important things happened in your personal life or school life in the last year? Getting 6s’ and 7s’.
What was good or special about it? I sucked and I have to get everything 7.
How did you grow or change? mitosis.
How did your life change? I got angry for a day.
Did you learn anything or decide anything that was really important? studying is really important.
Did you go anywhere or do anything that was really important or interesting? etc. No, only made videos and went to basketball. But also got an xbox.
Goal 1
Get perfect grades This goal is important to me because… I want to go to a college.
The benefits of achieving this goal are… getting a Masters/PHD and becoming a scientist.
I would like to achieve this goal by… Studying.
The steps I will take to achieve this goal are… Studying.

Goal 2
Stop being stressed
This goal is important to me because… I want to live longer.
The benefits of achieving this goal are… living longer and to stop being angry and rude/mean.
I would like to achieve this goal by… doing all my homework in one go.
The steps I will take to achieve this goal are… doing all my homework in one go.
