  3. Pig’s eye dissection: Science class.

    This eye is a pigs eye. This pig is already butchered and this is a waste that was not used. This was ready to get thrown away but we used them to learn how the eye looks in a real life form. Me and my partner has butchered these things. The pictures below mite be disturbing for you. If  it is please scroll down as fast as you can so you don’t have to see them.     The light rays the wave of the lights hits through the cornea the clear front “WINDOW” of the eye. The cornea bends the light rays in such way that they pass freely through the pupil the opening in the center of the iris through which light enters the eye. The iris works like a shutter of a camera. The retina gets the light ray and gives it to the optice nerve which will send you signals to the brain.

    Québec city, one of the oldest cities in North America, is the location for our unit “Sports et passe-temps”. Let’s explore this city and find out what is special about it and why it is such a great place for sports.

    Since the official languages in Canada are English and French, you will be able to navigate the sites you will be visiting in both languages. When writing answers to the questions below, make sure you provide the French names for places and/or activities.

    1. Would you like to know more about the cultural heritage of Quebec City? Go to this site to read about the history of this area of town.

    Historic District of Old Québec:

    Read the description of the Historic District of Old Québec and answer the following questions:

    • Who founded Québec and in which year?

    Found in the 18th century by the French in 1760 the british colony

    • What is so special about this historic district that it has been placed on the World Heritage list?

    The Historic District of Old Québec is made up of two parts: the Upper Town, defended by fortified ramparts, citadel, and other defensive works; and the Lower Town, which developed around the Place Royale and the harbour. A well-preserved integrated urban ensemble, the historic district is a remarkable example of a fortified city of the colonial era, and unique north of Mexico.

    Summer voyager et nager!

    This is a great place to visit for a hot summer day in Quebec. This Water park Village Vacances Valcartier has 35 waterslides, 2 huge rivers and most of all the The wave water pool! In this place you can rent a canoe or raft to go explore one of the river. You can also have small kids splash in the pool that is provided just for them how cool is that! thire are still more there is around 600 sites for camping. Who will like to go? MEEEEEE!

    Summer beach

    The beach called the Baie de Beauport is a really good place to visit. They have a good beach with no dangerous animals around. You can play in the water that is all salty but fresh! There is also a small water park near the beach so if your kids get bored about playing at the beach you can just play there too. They have a beautiful view of the sea when it is night time and lightened with illuminations.

    Apple picking is a tradition they do in Quebec when the seasons come. they start picking up the juicy apples that are ripe as ever. Yum is the first word when you pick an apple and put the juicy fruit in your mouth. don’t miss the apple picking If you are going in autumn.

    As the sun begins to set and you see the cover of blue shade of black covering the sky it is not just a night but a spooky night that you will experience in the halloween festivals. There is a ghost tour that is in quebec and there are special people showing you the long lost ghost town of Quebec. They talk about How you can see them and if you are lucky you ought to see one and test your nerves.

    Mont-Sainte-Anne ski resort is a great resort for animal lovers. There you have 65 friendly huskies that are trained for a lot of things. You can do skijoring which is a sport that an animal pulls you with a leash. This sport can have horses or dogs but at this resort you are only aloud to ski with dogs. besides there are whole bunch of them at the ski resort. There is also dog slaying and other things with things that include the dogs.

    When it is winter you can not miss these events happening at quebec. They will have the international sculpture competition from all around the world artist come and build sculpture that is made from big blocks of ice. There are also night parades where there are different people who are watching this big event with lots of decorated fancy floats. Are you also ready to have fun to have a cold snow bath. If you have the soul to challenge this # snow bath in Canada! with a bathing suit you are more awesome. If you can do this you are more awesome than the people who are indoors and drinking hot coco. If that is not enough for you, you can go and challenge other people by doing the ice canoe racing. All these you can enjoy in quebec.

    Do you like Charlie and the chocolate factory? Do you like chocolate. This is your place. You can just go a head and jump in to the chocolate museum and explore and learn the things that made chocolate. who and how and why and more and more. this will be a good experience. after you are done exploring the museum you might have all your mind filled and you mite want a short break. There is a little cafe that will have good things to drink. Bie some chocolate for your family and friends to give a great gift from quebec.

    You think that you need a little sweet time. Go to the Le Relais des Pins, Restaurant – Cabane à sucre. This is the great restaurant to get fresh maple syrup yum!. This restaurant also do the folk songs and the Sugar shack which is the awsome way of eating a maple syrup. it is like a candy that is cooled by snow and lots of kids from the old days used to eat them.
