Fourth Day At Field Studies (Thursday)

On Thursday, we went on a all day hike! We went on a bus to the Big hill we are climbing. On the way going to the big hill, we picked up 2 dogs, Sky (Mother) and Teddy (Son).

Their is a picture of them. Teddy is the Right and Sky is the Left.

They are so cute!! We walked up for 2 hours, and on the way up we took a group picture.

Then from there, we hiked up about 30 minutes. When we reached to the top, we ate lunch. For lunch we ate Vegeterian Curry. It was really good!

Third Day At Field Studies (Wednesday)

On Wednesday, we did Mountain Biking and River Cleaning! Our first activity of our day was River Cleaning. We walked about 2 km to Lawson and bought some snacks, then we started walking to the River we are going to clean up. We picked up lots of rubbish when we were walking.

After we did the River Cleaning, we ate lunch and we started our next activity, Mountain Biking!!! I was first nervous because, I never got on a Mountain Bike before. But after we started practicing, I got used to the Mountain Bike. I almost fell of my bike! (That was really scary!)

When I was riding my Mountain Bike, Rei fell down off his Bike and got scraped near his ankle. So I helped him stand and walked with him where the Evergreen Staff were. That time I was Caring, by helping him. Mountain Biking was really fun!

Second Day At Field Studies (Tuesday)

First when we woke up we ate  Break fast, then we had to start packing our bags and tents. The bag packing went good, but it took us a while to clean up the tent. After we cleaned up our tent we started  our first activity Canoeing! We had to choose 3 or 2 people to do canoeing with, so I chose Hana and Wonkyung.

This was my first time Canoeing, so I was a little nervous when I first got on the Canoe. But I got used to the Canoe so it was really fun. We went Canoeing to the opposite side of the Aokiko Lake. When we got there we played a little game and swam in the lake. I didn’t go in the water that much because, I didn’t really want to get wet. So I only got in the water until my ankles.

When we were going back we almost fell in the water. That time I was a little scared. But after all  Canoeing was really fun! This time I was a Risk Takerbecause I was first scared but I was brave enough to get in the Canoe and go Canoeing.

After that we got back and changed our clothes, then we ate lunch. For lunch we had burrito’s. After we ate our lunch we got on a bus and went to do Rock Climbing. I don’t really like heights so I didn’t really enjoy the Rock Climbing. I enjoyed the Canoeing then the Rock Climbing.

After we had finished Rock Climbing, we got to go to our hotel! Our hotel was called “Yama-no Hotel”. In Japanese, that means  Mountain Hotel. The Hotel was really nice. I especially liked our rooms and the food. Our rooms were really big, we had a first floor and a second floor. In the first floor, it was  a we had The bathroom (With an small shower room), 2 beds, a T.V, Night table, Desk, 2 chairs and a window. In the Second floor, it was a tatami room and we had 4 futons, a Japanese table with 3 Japanese chairs. I was really tired, but it was real fun!

That night, we went hot air ballooning!

It was a little scary, but it was fun!

Investigate Reflection

In the last past 6 weeks, we have been learning about Word Press and making a good blog. In the first week we have been making a brain storm of “How to make a good blog”.  We first did a blog research by looking at other people’s blog and finding some things they did to make their blog interesting, standing out and organized.  Then we made the brain storm from the research we did. After that Ms. Cofino (Our Technology Teacher) looked at our blog research and gave us some advantages and disadvantages. We made the shapes and colors easy to read and interesting.

My blog will represent me by my passion because, I will make daily posts that relates to my passion. For example, I can make a post about what I did and relates to my passion. I will also make posts about my learning at YIS.

For making a good blog I will use the techniques I have learned in technology class, and what I learned when  I was looking at other people’s blogs. Like making the text easy to read, by choosing dark color’s for the text, and light color’s for the background. For example use black for the text and making the back ground color light blue.

The 3 most important criteria’s for me is

1. Balanced

2. Pictures

3. Attractive Colors

Being “Balanced” is important for me because, if you had too much text and no pictures, that will be boring for the readers who see read’s your blog. So you should make the text and pictures equal, to not make the reader’s bored.

“Pictures” are important for me because, if you didn’t have high quality pictures,  people who see your blog maybe won’t know what the picture is. So you should have high quality pictures , if you are going to put them on your blog.

“Attractive Colors” is important for me because,  if you had black for the text, and black for the back ground too, it will be really hard to read the text. So I said as before you should make the text simple like black and make the back ground light blue.

I will try to make my blog meet these 3 criteria’s, and I will try to make my blog good as possible!

First Day at Field Studies (Monday)

For our first day in Middle School Field Studies we went to Hakuba, in Nagano!  The bus ride was about 5 hours and 30minutes. When we arrived at the Aokiko Camp, the Evergreen Staff greeted us.

After we  made our tents, we were divided in to several groups. I was in the group that learned how to walk with a compass.

First we learned North, South, West and East. Next we started to learn 360 degrees-90 degrees. Then we started to hike up a big hill. We had to searched for poster’s that say what degrees you have to walk to, and some question’s or  riddle’s.  We walked threw tall weeds that was almost 1m high!  After we hiked about 1 hour, we got back to the camp site.

Next we had to do 3 activities, and that took us like 20minutes.

Then we had dinner! For dinner we had Pasta with tomato sauce, and it was good.

After that, we had the camp fire!!!! We tolled lots of scary stories (some were really scary), and we had some hot chocolate with marsh mallows. After we had the camp fire, we brushed our teeth and went to our tent and went to bed. (My sleeping bag was broken, so it was so cold!)

“Ma découverte de Poitiers” (My discovery of Poitiers)

I discovered that Poitiers is a city is on the Clain River in west central France. Poitiers is a beautiful and  famous city  for its art and history. In Poitiers there is a theme park called “La Futuroscope”. This theme park is filled with cinematic exhibits. Their is a 360-degree theater and the Kinémax with its 600-square-meter screen, and this theater is popular for all ages.
