Tutorial Reflection

Recently in Technology Class, we have been watching tutorials, and finally we have made our own tutorial!

This is my Tutorial. It will show you how to draw a Cute Dog Fast and Easily.

For Homework, we had to Comment on 3 peoples blogs. So I commented on Kiyoka, Elena and Julynn ‘s Blogs.

Connect

Before we started making or planning the Tutorial, we have made a Tutorial Class Criteria.

First I think I met the Criteria “Finished Product”. I think I met this Criteria because, I showed the Finished Product at the Beginning of the Video and the at the End of the Video. I think it is important to have this Criteria because, if you don’t show the Finished Product at the Beginning, the Audience will not know what they are going to make.

The next Criteria I think I met is Subtitles. I think I met the Criteria Subtitles because, I showed Subtitles in the Tutorial when I was drawing the Dog. I think this Criteria is important because, if you don’t have an headphone and you are in a Library, you will have to listen to the Tutorial with no Sound. If there is no Sub Titles, in the Tutorial you will not be able to understand whats the Next Step and what you are supposed to do. And if the Audience can’t hear or if they have bad Ears, it will be really helpful to have Subtitles in your Tutorial so they can understand the Steps.

The last Criteria I think I met is Materials. I think I met this Criteria because, I showed the materials the Audience needs to complete the Tutorial. If I did not have the list of Materials you need to complete the Tutorial, the Audience would have to find it out their selfs, and would not know what you need and get confused.

Extend

Now I will talk about the Tutorials that extended my thinking in New ways. The Tutorials that I commented on is also the Tutorials that extended my thinking.

First I will talk about Kiyoka‘s Tutorial. Kiyoka’s Tutorial was about How to make a Tye-Die iPhone Case. By looking at her tutorial, I learned that you do not have to have lots of things like Cooking. Because in Cooking, you have to have lots and lots of Ingredients. But in this Tutorial, you just need few colors of Paint, a Plastic Bag and a Clear iPhone Case. Compared to cooking, I think that you don’t need that much stuff.

Next I will talk about Elena‘s Tutorial. Elena’s Tutorial was about How to make a DIY Glitter iPhone Charger. By watching her Tutorial, I learned that if you don’t want the Glitter to come off when rubbing the Charger, you should put the Mod Podge on the Charger again on top of the Glitter. I think this tip is helpful for the Audience because, if you didn’t know that tip and rubbed the charger, the Glitter will come off, and I think most people would not want that to happen on your charger.

Lastly I will talk about Julynn ‘s Tutorial. Julynn’s Tutorial was about How to make Cupcakes. By watching  her Tutorial, I learned that you do not have to put the Batter in the Paper Pan. Because, she said that you can put it in a Mug Cup too. I think this is a helpful tip for the Audience because, if you don’t have a Paper Pan in your house, you can use a Mug Cup in your house.

Challenges

I think I need to learn how to get better at the Introduction. Because in the Tutorial Video, I forgot to say “Hello, Everyone”, and just started talking. So if I was going to make another Tutorial or a Video, I will try not to forget to do the Introduction.

The last thing I need to get better at is the Criteria Tips. Because, in the Tutorial, I didn’t say any tips for the Audience. So I think I should say some tips. I think I should say some Tips because, it will be helpful for the Audience, and it will be easier to understand what the Directions/Steps are.

I will try to do better on the things I need to improve and hopefully, I will improve and make another Tutorial on my own!

This is a Survey we are taking, it will be helpful if you could fill up this Survey.

Tutorial Plan Reflection

Lately in Technology Class, we have started the Project “Teachers of the Future”.  In this Project, we are Making and Watching Tutorials. Before you are making your Tutorial you have to pick a Topic, and I picked Drawing  a Cute Dog.

This is my Storyboard↓

And we made a Timeline Plan too↓

This time plan is a list of what we have to do, and you have to put in the Order, Task , Deadline and some Details.

I think my Story board meets these Criteria’s.

  •  Finished Product
  • Materials
  • Step-by-Step

First I think I met the Criteria “Finished Product”. Because, I showed the Finished Product (My Drawing of the Dog) at the Beginning and at the End. Finished Product is something you have Finished  making or doing it. It is important to put the Finished Product because, if you don’t the Person who is watching the Video would not know what they are going to make or do in the Video. So I put the Finished Product before starting the steps and at the last part before the Video ended.

Second I thought that I met the Criteria “Materials”. Because, I presented the List of Materials at the Beginning of the Video (Before I explained the Steps). It is important to have the Materials presented at the Beginning of the Video because, if you don’t present the Materials at the Beginning of the Video, the people who are watching the Video would not know what he/she needs to prepare to make/do.

Last I thought that I met the Criteria “Step-by-Step”. Because, I put in all the Steps you need to do to draw a Dog, and I explained the Steps you need to do in the fill out Space that you need to Fill out. It is important to make your Video Step-by-Step because, if you don’t put the steps in the right order, the person who is Watching the Video will be Confused and not know what to do next.

I think my Tutorial is a good one because, I have my Steps in order so the Viewer will not get confused what to do next. And I think the Viewer will learn what I am trying to teach because, I have the Finished Product before I start explaining the Steps and I have the Materials presented before I start explaining the Steps and at last, I have the Steps in order so the Viewer will not get confused and do the Right Steps.

I think I need to learn how to always stay on the same pace to create my Tutorial (It’s not really learn how to always stay on the same pace. I just need to Practice!). Because if I sometimes speak on a Fast pace and suddenly Start Speaking in a Slow pace, the Viewer will get confused and maybe will not be able to understand the words when I am speaking in a Fast pace.

So I will try to make a great Tutorial of “How to Draw a Cute Dog”. By showing the Finished Product at the End and the Beginning, and showing the Materials the Viewer needs to prepare before watching the Steps. And to make sure I have the right order of the Steps in the Video!

What makes a Great Teacher?

Latley in Technology Class, we have been investigating on what makes a great tutorial. And so now, we are learning what makes a great Teacher.

I think great teachers explain the steps really well to their students. So even a kindergardener can understand too. And if the teacher dose not explain enough or well to the students, the students will not get what they have to do and they will only get bad grades. But when a great teacher explains very well to a student the student will not get off of task and will get good grades for following the rules.

I think great teachers had great teachers when they were small too. Because, if you didn’t have a great teacher when you were small, and be a teacher when you grow up, most people will do the same thing they were taught to when they were small by their teachers.

Area of Interaction

I think this unit fits the best in to Approaches to Learning. Because, students learn from teachers. But teachers learn from students too. And who teaches us everything? Its  the Teachers, that teaches us the rules and steps.

In this investigation, I learned that it is important to learn from a great teacher!

Compare and Contrast

In the last few weeks in Technology Class,  we made a Practice Tutorial, and looked at other peoples tutorials in Youtube.

I think my Practice Tutorial and the Tutorial I shared on My Blog ⟵ (this is the link to “My Favorite Tutorial!” Post) has a big difference because, the Tutorial I shared on my blog is the one that the Creator speaks to the Camera. But my Practice Tutorial is a Google Presentation.

The 2nd big Difference is that the Tutorial I shared on my Blog is not made in a Slide like Google Presentation, it is made by just drawing on paper and Recording that on the Camera. But my Practice tutorial as I said before is made on Google Presentation and on Slides, like a normal Presentation.

We had to comment on other peoples blogs to say what you learned in watching the Tutorial that was posted on the Blog. I commented on Sae’s Blog, Sayo’s Blog and Hana’s Blog. By looking and commenting on their blogs I have learned that it is important to Compare lots of Tutorials.

During the Investigate I learned that looking at lots of Tutorial is good because, you can Compare a good tutorial and a bad tutorial and learn new things. For example, I learned that the Creator should say Tips to do something. If their are tips it will be easier to understand what you are doing. I think I will use this to make a great tutorial because, as I said earlier it will be easier to understand for the people who is watching the tutorial.

My Favorite Tutorial!

Last week for Technology Homework, we had to finish our Tutorial Research, and this is one of my Favorite Video I used in my Tutorial Research.

Their are few things I like about this Video. She put the finished product before we started drawing. This is really helpful because, you will know what you will be drawing. The place where she set the Camera was great because, it was really easy to see what she was drawing. If she had set the Camera from a lower point, it would be hard to see what she is drawing.

These are some things I think the Creator could improve on. She could’ve used a Camera that was High quality because, it was a little hard to see what she was drawing, and to see the Little lines. She was fast forwarding some places in the Video. This was not that helpful because, it was hard to keep up to her. She could’ve used a darker Pencil because, at first, it was really hard to see the little lines.

Create Reflection

For the past few weeks, we have been doing a project on changing the theme that we want it to be on our blog, and making a menu bar with all the school stuffs with it plus, we have made an “About Me Page”. We have learned how to make our own Header Image in Photo Shop.

I am really Happy with how my blog looks like now, and just to make it easier to understand, this is a Screen Shot of my Blog right now. I like it now because, the text of the posts are not hard to read and you can see the text because, the Back Ground Color is “Blue”. Because, if the Back Ground Color is Black and if the Color of the Text is Black too, you won’t be able to read the Text or even See it. So I have made a decision on making my Back Ground Color “Light Blue”.

I like the theme where it is easy to see the Header Image and I like this theme because, it is really Simple, and maybe you have noticed but my Favorite Color is “Blue” and “Light Blue”. So I have made the Center Color of this blog “Blue”.

My most thing I am proud of on my blog is my Header Image. I am proud of my Header Image because, the Back Ground of my Header Image is “Dolphins” which are one of my Favorite Animals on Earth :). So I have made the Back Ground Header Image covered with “Dolphins”, and the writing on the Header Image is “Blue” too!

In this unit, I learned how to create an Header Image in Photo Shop and how to make a Menu with lots of Categories and we made an “About Me Page”. It was fun creating the Header Image of my Blog! My goal is to have lots of people from all around the World!

Plan Reflection

In Technology Class, we have been drawing 3 Blog Design’s. A Blog Design is where you draw a blog that your blog will want it to look like it at the end of the year.

Then after that you had to choose one favorite blog design from one of the Blog Design’s you made. I chose the one with some fruits drawn to it. And we chose a theme that is the closest enough to the Blog Design. I chose the theme “Oxygen” because, I thought it was the closest theme to my favorite Blog Design. I like this theme because it is a really simple theme.

I think this blog represents me because I like light colors and  not too funky/fancy or to too simple with black and white, and I like the light colors in the background!

I think I will want to learn how to make my posts more and more detailed. I will plan to learn these skills by reading lots of peoples blogs, and see what kind of words they used to explain better.

Investigate Reflection

In the last past 6 weeks, we have been learning about Word Press and making a good blog. In the first week we have been making a brain storm of “How to make a good blog”.  We first did a blog research by looking at other people’s blog and finding some things they did to make their blog interesting, standing out and organized.  Then we made the brain storm from the research we did. After that Ms. Cofino (Our Technology Teacher) looked at our blog research and gave us some advantages and disadvantages. We made the shapes and colors easy to read and interesting.

My blog will represent me by my passion because, I will make daily posts that relates to my passion. For example, I can make a post about what I did and relates to my passion. I will also make posts about my learning at YIS.

For making a good blog I will use the techniques I have learned in technology class, and what I learned when  I was looking at other people’s blogs. Like making the text easy to read, by choosing dark color’s for the text, and light color’s for the background. For example use black for the text and making the back ground color light blue.

The 3 most important criteria’s for me is

1. Balanced

2. Pictures

3. Attractive Colors

Being “Balanced” is important for me because, if you had too much text and no pictures, that will be boring for the readers who see read’s your blog. So you should make the text and pictures equal, to not make the reader’s bored.

“Pictures” are important for me because, if you didn’t have high quality pictures,  people who see your blog maybe won’t know what the picture is. So you should have high quality pictures , if you are going to put them on your blog.

“Attractive Colors” is important for me because,  if you had black for the text, and black for the back ground too, it will be really hard to read the text. So I said as before you should make the text simple like black and make the back ground light blue.

I will try to make my blog meet these 3 criteria’s, and I will try to make my blog good as possible!
