So today is my first day of in YIS and for music, I found out this unit was going to be about blues. BY doing research and using my prior knowledge, I have come to the conclusion that Blues is music of black American folk origin. That typically is in a twelve-bar sequence. It developed in the southern US towards the end of the 19th century. But became more popular and wider known in the 1940s, as african americans immigrated to the cities. Urban blues gave the rythm to the rock’n roll music.
The 12 bar blues is a scale used in manny blues songs, it starts with a C and includes F & G.
It goes like this ^
This blues scale can be used by guitars, piano, and many other instruments.
