We have been drawing what kind of blog you want it to look like in the future, also labeling it to explain why it represents you and how to grow your blog. I have learned that there a lot of requirements to make a good interesting blog. When drawing it was hard to think of a blog which I wanted it to look like. But I think I have improved on the ways to make the best blog for the readers. For the labels I found things that I was missing that needed to be added so I still have far more to improve. The how to grow a blog helps encourage me to do the things that are important when looking at my blog, also to update it more to not bore my readers.

It represents me because its simple and one of my favorite color is purple. I also chose this theme because there is both of my favorite kinds of blog themes. It has a place to see the pictures on each blog post and can also go to the article when the reader thought it was interesting. The last thing is where you can just scroll to see the posts like usual. Simple is one of the most important things for a good blog, so I tried to keep mine as simple as I can. That is why my background and my header image is plain. It also has good contrast where the text is dark and the background is a lighter color. It is not crowded with a lot of widgets therefore it is spaced and the readers eyes won’t get tired.

I think I can do most of the things I have learned in class very well. I have learned what it takes to make an interesting blog not just for the readers but also to my self. I am most confident about keeping my blog simple and have good contrast. The drawing of my future blog is simple and spaced out for the readers. It also has good contrast with a light background and dark text, but I might want to keep it more simple and have it a really light background because the one I drawed was light purple and I think I would change it to light blue. I do want to learn what kinds of patterns people like to see in a blog and if some patterns are too complicated. I would like to learn what kind of setting the post should be like what you should write first and last. So that the readers won’t be bored and still be interested to the end.

For this unit I think I have learned a lot of what it means to keep your blog the best it can look. I have learned there are things you have to when you are customising your blog, and things that you should do frequently like every week. Therefore when choosing your blog theme you have to look for a theme that you think represents you and it should be a theme you think is interesting. After you choose a theme customise it the way you think is best, but you have to remember to keep it simple and have it look eye-catching. It should look so that people won’t have a hard time reading it and won’t get tired. The things that you should be doing more frequently is keeping your blog updated or to look at your comments and reply to it.

These are really great questions, Kalea:

Let’s make sure to talk about these the next time we have class – especially the ideas about what make a good blog post!
