Inquiring and Analysing Reflection

For the first unit, we have done quite a few projects such as: Blog Research where we researched different things about a blog and finally looked at different blogs to compare. We’ve also done a blog brainstorm where we brainstormed in Inspiration what are blog could be about. We also learned about WordPress and the last thing we’ve done was research some design Specification. I’ve learned many things including how to improve my blog by using a better color pallet, having big text size etc.

I think having a blog can really have a good benefit on you. I enjoy learning about some of my interests or hobbies than sharing it on my blog. Then your friends can see it and other people from around the world that may have the same interest as you could see it too! I think a problem that having a blog will solve is a simple or hard question you want to find the answer to. If you have a question and you post it on your blog, you may get a very nice and specific answer from a friend or a random person in the world.

In technology class, we have learned about some “design specifications.”

    1. I think that having text size is very important. You don’t want your reader to be confused whether he/she is reading part of the sidebar or what you are actually talking about. Therefore having big bold words with different colors makes it much clearer and easier to see.
    2. I also think keeping up with the trend is important. If you are aiming for your blog to become famous, not a lot of people would want to read or look at anything from 2009 for example. Your blog needs to be up to date with new information every week or even everyday!
    3. Finally I think having a good color pallet is important. It would be hard to the eyes if the whole blog was just the color light blue. You should have a nice contrast with your colors so it is easy to read and enjoyable to look at.

To be sure that my blog meets the 3 criteria,

I think I could ask some of my friends to take a quick peek at my blog to see if the text size is nice and easy to read and if I used a good color pallet. I can also ask teachers for their opinion about my blog to see if they agree with what my friend has said.  For keeping my blog updated, all I have to do is look at social networking websites (such as Facebook, Twitter, or any other websites), or read a few articles in the newspapers to see what is going on with the world at the moment. Then I will have some knowledge of things that are trending around the world.

So far during this unit, I’ve enjoyed a lot of the small projects we’ve done. My favorite project was doing the blog research. I enjoyed researching different blogs and finding nice things about the blog so I can add it to my blog. Something I think I can improve on is asking more questions. I tend to be a little bit shy at times. A class like tech/design is confusing and can be a little bit complicated. Therefore asking questions will boost my confidence even higher than it already is now.

  1. Great point about why we need blogs: “I think a problem that having a blog will solve is a simple or hard question you want to find the answer to. If you have a question and you post it on your blog, you may get a very nice and specific answer from a friend or a random person in the world.” This is also means you need to have people read your blog, so there will be someone to answer your questions, right?

So glad you’re enjoying the class – please do ask more questions if you’re not sure!
